Don't think clones stand a chance to be honest. Seem like a middling team only for Darren freeman they would be very badly stuck.

Leagues need to go back to just semi finals and bottom two in a relegation final or else the bottom team relegated. Way to complicated of a format in monaghan. 222 (UK) - Posts: 873 - 11/07/2025 11:23:55 2624947 Link 2 |

Big call from the board to be made. Clones done very well pity to throw it away in the end. I would imagine if there was a replay it would be another brawl.

Big result for eire og today in aghabog. Is it going to be another year of underachieving for aghabog? They seem to get built up every year only to fall down when it comes down to the crunch..... is this year going to be the same? They got outplayed today by a an eire og side who didn't really seem to be firing on all cylinders. ginelli (Monaghan) - Posts: 51 - 13/07/2025 19:44:40 2625352 Link 0 |
I want to see the day Scotstown is pushing for Senior and Intermediate titles. Anyone who begrudges Scotstown a junior league or championship this year needs to take a look at themselves

Like it or not, it appears to be getting closer every year. Was in kilmore over the wknd at a juvenile game, the facilities they have at their disposal is a credit to them. Co Board would need to take a leaf out of their book, cloghan is a pigsty more often than not.

It Scotstown wanted to win a junior league or championship they could it's that easy for them. What do you expect when there's 4 parishes playing for the one team for gods sake. If aghabog killeevan currin and rock had a joined team I'm sure they would be the same as Scotstown. Stupid people say this what do you expect. What are the 4 parishes? I see this a lot on here but i don't understand? Is it not 1 parish, like many another in the county? ginelli (Monaghan) - Posts: 51 - 13/07/2025 22:41:08 2625437 Link 0 |
They are an amalgamation of 4 teams plus have players that should be playing for currin, The Sean's, eire og, roslea and the harps. Better for Monaghan football them competing in junior. Was in Kilmore a few weeks ago and there must have been 150 lads training between the different teams. Monaghangeael (Monaghan) - Posts: 23 - 14/07/2025 00:06:00 2625462 Link 0 |

Not disagreeing with you at all, there good enough to win and I know that, but my point being anyone wanting them to be winning Juniors titles and honestly competing for intermediate titles do not have the county's best interest at heart. Truth being the stronger and bigger scotstown gets the weaker Monaghan will get Unfortunately. My opinion anyway. farneygael (Monaghan) - Posts: 317 - 14/07/2025 00:34:54 2625468 Link 2 |
So those 4 teams would have the same dominance at senior level? It's not Just a numbers game.

It's the general stuff on here. Only in Monaghan are people obsessed by parish. In GAA it's generally by primary school. 4 teams 80 years ago. Half of tydavneh parish is barron bog

You mention one thing about our county's flagship club and then there's an onslaught. Same lads will be cheering them in an Ulster campaign in December but!! farneygael3 (Monaghan) - Posts: 291 - 14/07/2025 10:09:16 2625524 Link 0 |
