It was an accidental final. The powers that be are to blame for that due to their ridiculous scheduling. Tough out on Mayo, Roscommon, Limerick and Wexford to have to play championship a week after league finals and for what is the fourth weekend in a row between Round 6, 7, finals and the start of the provincial championships.

Aidan O'Shea doesn't have the legs that's required for a modern day midfielder. Only side that will stop Kerry this summer is a Ulster team."
O Shea hasn't been playing midfield for 2 years.

He was replying to someone who suggested Mayo needed him in midfield. He was very effective inside in the early part of the game, but ran out steam as it wore on. He was back in his own full back line at times in the second half, which definitely drained the battery.

Would have liked to have seen Donegal v Kerry yest, the 2 teams going full at it but the way the Ulster Championship is it made no sense for us to try and be there.
Kerry will take some stopping when they hit peak form, it will take a very good team to beat them.

Mayo get an F for the ridiculous outfits. We love the green, red and white, what is going on in the GAA?

Didn't realise. Mayo still short up front. Team is stacked with players playing out of position. O Shea is doing great work. Brilliant last year. Needs more help.

Listen ye struggled to beat our B team playing at home and we weren't even trying that hard, that's the facts, Mayo are going well though, impressed with big O'Shea these days, as I said before though it will take a good team to deny Kerry Sam this year.
O'Connor's record of winning the league and All Ireland in same year is ominous.

Can anyone explain why Clifford gets frees in every game he plays while O Shea never gets a free.

and Clifford really disrespected the ref and got away with it, the yellow card was nothing.
Free should have been overturned and 50 M added

I'm a great admirer of David Clifford but recently he seems to be competing with his older brother when it comes to whingeing to referees. I didn't like him putting up two fingers to the referee early in yesterday's match, apparently to signify that it was the second foul by the Mayo defender. That's akin to soccer players giving the yellow card signal to the ref, for which they are supposed to be booked, and maybe this should apply to Gaelic football too.

There is a harsh reality to the league finals
Div 1 - Kerry have no game for 3 weeks and went hard for it - Mayo didnt go as hard as no player wanted to miss a championship match - it was obvious
Div 2 - Roscommon didnt push on and let the game get away from them - have a match next week
Div 3 - Both teams full throttle to the end
Div 4 - Neither team at full throttle as both are out next week - Wexford were a long way off their earlier form.

need to fix the league format and schedule. Having 21k in Croke Park for a double header is a poor show. There was more at Munster V Connacht in Castlebar

I wouldn't be using the Sligo game as an excuse for our pathetic performance yesterday.

Thought both o donoghue for mayo with a late hit to the head near the end should have got a straight red as should d clifford for kerry for his "tackle" on the mayo keeper. Both good forwards but ref turned a blind eye to both incidents.

Too few league matches for that in my opinion.. Simple solution is to have a 2/3 week gap between league finals and the start of the Championship.. and I don't want to hear the old guff about not having time in the calendar for this…. that's plain nonsense
