One of the main reasons the Dubs have won 4 of the last 6 is their strength in depth, their bench has made a huge difference to finals during that time. TheWestIsAwake (UK) - Posts: 529 - 15/12/2016 12:01:25 1940287 Link 0 |

I'd agree with those suggesting Barry Owens, as I think that was the outstanding fullback of the last 15 years. If he'd been born in Kerry and less cursed with injuries, he'd have 5-6 all stars instead of the still very impressive 2 that he won with Fermanagh. The only reason why anyone would pick B Brogan ahead of Joyce is because he split the 90's and 00's. Joyce was a superior player to Brogan, Joyce had far more to his game than Brogan does. TheWestIsAwake (UK) - Posts: 529 - 15/12/2016 17:45:10 1940394 Link 3 |

If your picking a number 15 between Bernard or Joyce in their pomp it's Brogan every single time , yes maybe Joyce had more to his game from a passing or dribbling stand point but Bernard was the most lethal Corner Forward of the the last ten years bar Cooper. Joyce was class but after his first 3 years which were outstanding he never hit them same heights again. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 15/12/2016 20:42:03 1940420 Link 1 |
All that happened to Darren Fay this century was getting absolutely destroyed by Ray Cosgrove in the Leinster Semi in 02. The Kilmacud man danced round Fay all afternoon and the Meath man barely got laid a finger on him. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13797 - 15/12/2016 20:48:46 1940421 Link 1 |
Sorry but there is a big difference between Joyce playing out half of his career on a fading Galway team and Brogan playing out the majority of his on a brilliant Dublin team who smash their way through Leinster every year. Take of the blue glasses. You can still pick Brogan but to say Joyce only played well for 2 or 3 years is laughable.

He played well after but nowhere near the same standard. Bernard destroyed teams well before 2011 and to just say he ran amok in Leinster is laughable. Take off your Mayo hatred for Dublin glasses. Bernard Brogan after Gooch is the most lethal corner forward the last ten years. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 15/12/2016 22:42:36 1940444 Link 0 |
West You honestly believe 8 Kerry players deserve to be in the team? Even the most optimistic Kerry supporter would struggle with this team. The_Fridge (Tyrone) - Posts: 2093 - 15/12/2016 23:50:08 1940455 Link 0 |

Clon You have a tendency to make a statement then completely row back on it. It's happened twice in this thread. Anyway this thread is going down hill quickly, people from each county are picking a disproportionate amount of players from their county and it silly. Please take of the glasses!!!!!! All Spillane is trying to do here is that stupid "Team of the Decade" argument he was drumming on about a few years back. He still has a wasp in his jocks over Tyrone. The fact is that Kerry were beaten by Tyrone in every major game they played in during the 00s. Kerry now have the upper hand over them again and are a scary prospect in the next few seasons but for the noughties Tyrone were the bosses. Yes Fridge I do, Kerry played in 9 finals from 2000 to 2010. 6 finals in a row including back to back wins in 06/07. I've 3 players from Tyrone & Dublin which is fair and one Cork man who was the heartbeat of that cork side. westkerry (Kerry) - Posts: 1250 - 16/12/2016 07:32:17 1940467 Link 0 |
Sorry for the typo I meant 7 finals. It was a long night! westkerry (Kerry) - Posts: 1250 - 16/12/2016 09:06:48 1940475 Link 0 |
My team for what it's worth. Left out the likes of Moynihan, Joyce and Canavan, who would make the 90's team. GeniusGerry (Kerry) - Posts: 2113 - 16/12/2016 09:26:01 1940481 Link 0 |
