The bookies don't set the odds. They mark up prices but it is punter that determines where the market goes. I don't think any team is value to win AI but can see why the prices as are they are, Better sense to wait for big knockout games. Good example of how the market changes is that favourites in Dublin v Louth have flip flopped. Louth were slightly odds on last week, now Dublin are 4/5 and likely to be even shorter. Wouldn't take that price myself but thats how the market works. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 4260 - 02/05/2026 13:10:19 2670348 Link 0 |

I think i have been clear on that. Ultimately its a matter for the leinster council but I am a fan of the round robin in its original format. 5 teams in each provincial group( for clarity Galway being in Leinster group) under the original rules.

Thats a decision that would need revisiting if we went back to a 5 team Leinster Championship. Not fair that any Munster county can have a poor year with no penalty for it, while no Leinster county can. Relegation would add a layer of excitement to the Munster Championship also. Oh dear. This years Munster championship has thrown up a few very once sided games.. should the Munster championship be relagated to 2 o clock Saturday matches next year?? Or is that just for Leinster championship... seem fair??? twbm (Clare) - Posts: 63 - 03/05/2026 18:14:05 2670686 Link 0 |

That would be up to National Congress. And the 10 counties it would suit would get heavily outvoted by everyone else. Its not got a chance, it would be a waste of my time asking the Clubs Executive to put in a Motion.

True. So, when Clare are playing give the game the 2 pm Saturday slot. When the other four teams are involved in games that do not feature Clare, keep 'em at their prime time Sunday slot. Easy fix to the problem you have. foreveryoung (USA) - Posts: 2511 - 03/05/2026 19:04:55 2670704 Link 0 |

Maybe Ill put forward a motion to the club that promotion and relegation should be introduced to the Munster Championship? On the grounds that it would be massively beneficial to whoever gets promoted to it to have 4 Championship games, maybe make them all home games, against 4 of the giants of hurling? Imagine the good it would do for Antrim hurling, or Westmeath hurling, or Carlow or Laois or whoever, for young people in those counties to see Fitzgibbon, Hegarty, Kelly or Mcgrath in the flesh, get their hurls signed etc? It would be massive for growing the game nationally!!! Maybe it would get alot of support!
