Replying To shaggykev:  "16 became 12. Rossies can feel hard done by luck of the draw but other three are the right three eliminated .

This time two weeks we will only have three more games left in championship.

Next week looks way too packed with four do or die knockout games, two knockout hurling quarter finals and taitleann Cup semis as well.

Let the thing breathe. This coupled with WC taking place, expect plenty of giving out about TV and throw times."
When you wake up we will have 7 games left in the Championship. Then on to the real stuff, the club championships.

Replying To anotheralias:  "Kerry Armagh and donegal remain top 3 . I guess a few weeks back (pre rnd 1 draw) it would have seen as disasterous for 1 of these 3 to miss out on direct route as it could mean meeting 1 of the other big 3 in the QF. Ironically now that they have all been beaten once, they will avoid each other in QF. Okay armagh could get kerry in rnd 3, but asuming they dont (and i dont agree with the conspiracy theorists) its unlucky for the 4 teams who went direct route as 3 of them are likely to meet the big 3 in the QFs"
Interesting. Galway go direct to the quarters and a Galway man wants to talk about 3 round 3 teams being the favourites! ;-)

If all 3 come through next weekend, it's likely they will all be favourites for the quarter-finals though.

It seems some northern contributors are a little sore about how Ulster teams are faring in this year's championship. The All-Ireland series is open but in my opinion, Kerry are favourites for the championship especially if they get all their injured players back on the field. The danger for both Donegal and Armagh who are my next two favourites could play in the next round. Great credit should go to Cork as they've played well in this year's championship but haven't received the credit they deserve. Louth's result against Armagh was fortunate as their victory was due to a goalkeeper's mistake and a dubious call regarding a point. Tomorrow's draw will be interesting in both competitions.

I have watched nearly every game available on RTE and GAA+. How wrong do you think I'm here with a statement like that?

Armagh cannot play Donegal. Kerry can meet Armagh. The draw this morning could be crutial.

Callinan just had to go for goal or lay it off to Tommy Conroy. The fact he went for a point in that position was scandalous. Also management leaving Coyne of McCurry was criminal.

Monaghan vs. Westmeath
Dublin vs. Donegal
Mayo vs. Meath
Kerry vs. Armagh

That's some draw. Hard to call any of them fixtures. Football championship the gift that keeps on giving this year.

It was a very poor decision and I thought that in real time. It was a guaranteed goal if he slipped a simple hand pass to his left. Conroy was unmarked and had an open goal in front of him, if he got the pass. He was also in Callinan's line of vision, so he can't he didn't see him.
Also the rushed shot from O'Shea when there was time to get a better kicker on the ball to level it.
A big chance to redeem themselves against Meath. Should be a good game.

And Kerry get Armagh. That'll be some occasion. I think all 4 games are open. People might say Donegal should be strong favourites against Dublin, but we had people on here saying 5 of the 8 games on the weekend were guaranteed, and two of those produced very big shocks.
Both Monaghan and Westmeath will believe they can can win. Who knows how Mayo and Meath will go. It's do or die for Kerry and Armagh. The Dubs could be very awkward for Donegal.

Thanks yank! It was an unbelievable win, and once Cork smelled a bit of blood coming down the straight they just drove on. Couldn't believe how cocky some Donegal folk were. Yes, we were underdogs, but obviously people haven't been watching us too closely thus far - this team has great resilience and is well able to rack up big scores.

Re the hurlers - we are not down and will pick ourselves up and go again.

Another long trek fore Meath, it will be ridiculous if they schedule us for a 7.00 throw in again.

It has opened up nicely for everyone.

Winner end up playing 1 of
Louth
Galway
Cork
Tyrone

A nice q final draw would be

Louth v Mayo/Meath
Galway v Armagh/Kerry
Cork v Monaghan/Westmeath
Tyrone v Dublin/Donegal

Everyone would fancy their chances of a semi final in that scenario (bar Dublin)

Tongue in cheek but who has a better chance of a double (Cork or Galway). Either way an absolute long shot for either but on current form I would think Cork hurlers are ahead of our hurlers and our footballers are ever so slightly ahead of the Cork footballers. On the draw very hard to call the 4 games as the 8 teams for varying reasons will have a sense of confidence.

Will be interested to see how GAA schedule the games for the weekend but truth be told…it's way too packed

Every match is do or die but with hurling and Tailteann, we have eight matches that deserve space, coverage and hype squeezed into 2 days.

So we will probably have Dublin v Donegal clashing with Sundays quarter final hurling and the Tailteann Cup will again compete with probably Mayo v Meath and Monaghan v Westmeath.

Kerry v Armagh must be the centre of all the coverage but will probably get hidden behind the paywall again.

Dublin v Donegal - The previously banned Ger Brennan versus Jim McGuinness who avoided any sanction.
Mayo v Meath - bad memories for some Mayo supporters.
Kerry v Armagh - it was written in the stars after Louth's smash and grab!
Monaghan v Westmeath - great opportunity for both to battle it out.
