They hammered Tyrones best in their own back yard

don't know why people think tullamores win over the downs was a shock result. go through the teams tullamore with lads with underage all irelands in both codes. they will beat ballyboden in tullamore as well. i think Athy will have to much for port in the other semil final. i think with both tullamore and newbridge having home games will be worth a few points.

Newbridge are not home. Game is in Omagh.

They're talking about the Leinster championship.. I'd say they mean the Athy match which is in Newbridge

Loughmacrory's main aim was to win the O Neill cup, job done. Kilcoo's aim is to win the All Ireland, job not done, because let's face it, they don't have to do much to win the Down championship.

Your comment undermines the fact that Kilcoo have only just been on the right side of extra time, penalty and one-point victories throughout their own championship, and in the Ulster and All-Ireland series in the recent past. Equally they're rarely on the receiving end of a bad beating meaning they're clearly competitive in any fixture.

They mightn't be everyone's cuppa, but you have to respect them. Job not done this year, fair enough - but I wouldn't be writing them off for Ulster too soon. The All-Ireland? Different kettle of fish for any team, big name or small - all you need is a Troy parrot for two matches ;)

Unless something crazy happens, can't see it being anything other than comfortable for Kilcoo and Dingle. Eire Og could give St Finbarrs a rattle but I'd expect Finbarrs to come through. Scotstown v Newbridge will be a very interesting one. Could go either way but I just think the Scotstown experience and some of those big two pointer lads will get them over the line.

Tullamore are decent no doubt about it but Boden will win that by 5/6. Athy v Boden final in the offing.

Erne Gaels down a few bodies for kilcoo game tomorrow with their centre forward form the last day getting married today in Italy. They tried to get game changed but no joy which is a tough ask with the compressed calendar at this time of year.

Newbridge v Scotstown was a tough one for the weekly predictions. Eire Og as challengers in Munster have good experience in recent years. Whether they can utilise that experience to get to the final will be revealed on Sunday. Kilcoo and Dingle are both heavily favoured to get through to their respective finals.
There will be different opinions on it. The provincial championships seem a bit drawn out. Consecutive weekends and a two week gap to finals would complete over 5 weekends.
November 1/2: Leinster and Ulster preliminary.
November 8/9: Quarter finals
November 15/16: Semi finals

November 29/30: Finals

December 13/14: All Ireland semi finals
December 20/21: All Ireland finals.

Enjoy the end of year festivities!

Not fair on GAA players, there is no down time for players involved with county when their club teams gets to the latter stages of club All Ireland. The whole thing needs restructured.

When would you have the provincial club hurling?

Yeah sure look, different opinions. The original plan with the split season was for the All Ireland club championship to be completed in the calendar year. Something has to give to achieve it with down time then at the end of December. It is tricky enough to maintain momentum during the Christmas break.

What about dual clubs?

That's it. Different opinions. Success is tough. Such a small percentage of clubs feature beyond the county championships. Streamlining November and December, and the impact of that should be a discussion led by players really and what they want.

On the field of play, Kilcoo have cruised through to another final. Boden, Kilcoo, Brigids and Dingle are currently favourites in that order without any major gap.

Tell the Slaughtneil lads to pack in one of the codes so. Asking them to potentially play an All-Ireland semi-final on the same weekend is madness.

Whoever made the decision to host a double header on such a poor Healy Park surface should not be allowed to make further decisions.

Ah yes for sure. Different opinions. But thankfully the GAA won't be agreeing with yours as regards dual clubs.
