Replying To Pikeman96:  "He may well have said that all right, but it could have been said in a number of different ways, e.g. "probably my last game because I've decided I probably won't stay on anyway", or "probably my last game because I probably won't be kept on even if I want to stay".

And yeah, could well be the case that the fact that Waterford and Kilkenny are also looking for managers might have an impact on our own timelines."
Hopefully we get the best man for our job before either of them do.

Replying To Pikeman96:  "Oh yeah. The application and interview process and the considerations that follow are very thorough. They have to be.

You couldn't just quickly tell somebody "that's grand, you can have the job" and only find out afterwards who they want in their backroom or that they're demanding that huge money be spent on the team."
You have to remember managers are dealing with a €1 million plus budget .. with possibly a backroom team of 40 people not including probably another 40+ players .. all this doesn't have to be outlined in the application, but still you need to have a fair idea of who your core 'staff' are and what you intend to spend .. Intercounty management is nearly like been CEO of a medium sized business. County Board then have to agree and sign off on the budget at the start of the year. This is normally their first job after county convention.

It sounds like whole interview and application process could take weeks and if not months. Lets hope the county board have been working on this since our game against Galway and we are at least a bit through the process

Surely alot of the financial side is looked after by the team liason officer?

Looked after yes - but at end of the day it is responsibility of the manager to put a plan in place for budget for the year. Once approved then it's the team liason officer who helps manage it.

Listened to John Kiely talking on one of the podcasts - Was asked why he was wearing airpods for last few games. Is connected directly to one of the Stats team in the stand. Asks about certain players and how they have been performing in maybe last ten min period. The main thing he is trying to see is if the stats are telling him something different than what he or his team on the sideline are seeing .. different level

You see so much more if you are even 10 feet higher up. Thats what makes the VEO system so good for match videoing.

Replying To munsterchamps:  "what wexford need is a top class coach. i saw a few of the wexford games this year and was no method to there play.....i know there isnt a paul kinnerk in every county but there must be a good sharp coach in wexford. i know limerick have some good players but without kinnerk they wouldnt have been half as successful. the day of putting 15 hurlers on the field and hope for the nest is well gone."
David Franks was there for the two previous years and bar the first league campaign we looked fairly clueless in and out of possession then aswell. Franks is highly regarded too. Think we are lost between the lash it in Chin's general direction tactic and the short ball under Davy Fitzgerald.

Hes done his 3 years. He can go for the job again for sure, thats his call, but ultimately its going to be up to the Board to appoint someone for another term. Be it him, or someone else.

To read some posters you would be forgiven for thinking that
Rossi had got his P45 or handed in his resignation. Neither are true.
Let's wait and see what happens, if anything.
It would seem likely that he will hang up the managers bib but no statement from the camp yet, one way or the other.

He pretty much said so after the Offaly game. Considering one's future with a championship game left doesn't bode well. His term us up in any case.

If that's true, why is he waiting so long to make a decision. The season is over for us and he has had plenty of time to make his mind up.
If he is departing the scene it should happen quickly. Then the cb can get on with the job of finding a new manager.

Its fairly obvious Keith time is up as manager. I just hope the county board are doing work behind the scenes, we can't wait for Keith to tell us in a few months he's stepping down.

Rossi has stepped down

Would like to thank him for his service, hurled for Wexford for a long time, managed the U20s, and then managed the Seniors when it wasn't as if there was a huge number of lads lining up for the job, was on a bit of a hiding to nothing in the end when you consider the number of lads who weren't hurling for Wexford last year, our lack of talent in the 25-27yo bracket, and the fact we were behind the curve on S&C

Just announced, Rossi has resigned.
Well done Keith, you gave it your all and unfortunately didn't get the success you deserved.
With retirements of key players and a plethora of injuries, the task was always going to be uphill.
Interesting to see who will throw their hat in the ring, if any.
