Replying To Viking66:  "They lost that years Leinster Final to Wexford."
I know that. Just think Kilkenny would have beaten Wexford if that was the All Ireland Final pairing.

Impossible to say now. But previous to that we had beaten them twice in a row in Croke Park in 2017 and 2019.

Replying To endgame:  "Do you think that if Wexford had beaten Tipperary in the 2019 semi final, Wexford would have beaten Kilkenny in the Final.? I think Kilkenny would have won a final against Wexford."
We'll never know, but our record against them in that period is excellent.

We'd already beaten them in two finals that year.

Replying To Bon:  "What was up with Austin Gleeson this year? When he did get a run he didn't look fit in the slightest, he should be playing a far bigger roll in that Waterford team. I think most people thought the year off might have done him the world of good. Hopefully they can get something from him next year."
Gleeson showed his skill today. 6 points from play. 5 from his own half of the field and sprayed glorious passes around to his team mates. A rare talent for sure.

It seems that the hype got to the Cork girls as well; unbackable favorites all week. It's easy to back 'em now.
But at least those lassies have proven their mettle and have put back-to-back!

Well done to Galway, whose men might now take some inspiration from their women!

Yes Bon. One sided games for sure. Mount Sion probably the best of the chasing pack but in my opinion two many well travelled players for the youth and strength available to the gunners. A mismatch.

Saw BGs intermediates play recently, the talent even at that level was serious stuff. It must be soul destroying for the rest of the senior teams in Waterford that they are so far ahead of everyone.

Yes it is going to be interesting if and probably the premiere intermediate will be won by Ballygunner. Can they have two senior teams ? They could not be seeded for sure. The crazy thing about it is the second team would be more competitive than the bottom teams in senior. Their dominance is seems to be taking toll on the other teams as many players missing or just returning when it's too late. You don't hear of players from Ballygunner gone overseas. Or else their strengths masks it. Success is their makings but is it the best for Waterford hurling is the question.
It really two seasons in one for them as they will stop again in a week or two as it will be November before playing in the Munster championship. This is total craziness.

Is this the Waterford Senior Hurling Manager 2026 forum? Oh wait…they already have one?

Any white smoke (or even red) from the conclave yet?

The longer the doldrums go on, the less likely that we'll see Pat Ryan at the Cork helm in 2026! A decent man with a fine hurling brain, I say, that he should remain in charge!

But Cork know better! Of course, they do! They're Cork!

LOL!

Topics will veer off when there is nothing new and only b. s. to report on a subject. Bon asked a question or two and good manners is to give an answer if possible. No one trying to hi-jack the Cork managerial train speculation.

Not sure what you can do about Ballygunnars dominance as there have been thousands of houses built in their catchment area this millennium.
Maybe the best thing for the other clubs to do is try harder to develop players to be good Senior adult players, rather than try too hard to win underage titles? There is a difference in approach between those 2 goals.

Great servant, brought cork hurling back to the all ireland finals, however if the rumours are true and lost the dressing room at half time in the final then he is probably is better off going, could he ever win that dressing room back after that. But of course we may never know if those rumours are actually true

A gentleman and probably the right decision for himself.

A great manager and person. Cork have shot themselves in the foot again and that makes it hard to walk. Now a poison chalice. Pat did look like a deer in the head lights in that second half and I said it at the time. Mind you it was probably not of his making but thwarted by others and more of a reflection on what can I do. I know a lot of non collaborated opinions but time will clear up. What ever caused the collapse including Tipps's brilliance has roots.
