Galway got the easiest QF of the whole year and they couldn't make it. Tyrone beat Donegal in their backyard twice, (sorry to the good Donegal folk) and they are wiping the floor with the team that beat Galway. If Donegal hold Clifford to single figures Donegal win the All Ireland.

Credit to Donegal very good, could say the writing was on the wall when they were leading by 5 points at half time having played with the wind. 2nd half all too easy as outscored Meath by 15 points contest was over on 45 minutes really. A mid table Division 2 team were shown their place. Galway must be disgusted with themselves. LilywhiteGael (Kildare) - Posts: 131 - 13/07/2025 18:02:42 2625325 Link 5 |
Whatever about Galway being complacent v Meath.....what have Tyrone achieved or gained from Championship 2025 apart from being "quietly " hammered in the All Ireland Semi Final!

Two one-sided SF's but best two teams in the final. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4956 - 13/07/2025 18:25:54 2625332 Link 0 |
Nothing wrong with reaching an All Ireland semi final. Galway would love the chance to compete in one, either football or hurling. Tyrone minors and U20s are All Ireland winners this year. Grass roots are in good hands... unlike in Galway.

Kildare have beaten Kerry in championship once in 97 years Kildare have beaten Dublin twice in championship in 50 years Kildare haven't beaten Galway in championship in 102 years Meath beat Kerry Galway and Dublin this year. Meath have beaten more top teams this year than kildare have in last 25 years eg Kildare only victory over top team this century eg Mayo 2018. Kildare have only beaten two top teams outsie leinster in last 97 years. They are Mayo in 2018 and kerry in 1998. Meath beat two top teams outside leinster this summer. Meath have had great year, huge progress with one youngest teams in the country. First leinster team to beat Dublin in 15 years. Meaths defeat over kerry was kerrys worst defeat in championship in 24 years, and 5th worst to team outside Munster in their history. First leinster team to reach All Ireland semi final in 15 years. * outside Dubs. Meath are first team in 140 years of gaelic football to beat kery Dublin Galway in same year in same championship. That's called progress. Anyone who says otherwise knows nothing about football or is jealous and bittr of Meath huge development this year. I think kildare looking at their dreadful poor performances v div 3 and div 4 teams throughout this year and last year, need to be focusing on improving themselves. 2 best teams in the country in the final. Fascinating game. For all the talk of Kerry's flair and skill, and they are undoubtedly a fine side, Donegal are certainly not lacking there either. Donegal move the ball about really well, can get forward really quickly and are very comfortable taking scores from anywhere. I'm sure Jimmy and his bootroom are making plans for Clifford as well speak. Ulsterman (Antrim) - Posts: 9825 - 13/07/2025 20:47:21 2625392 Link 1 |

Yes credit to meath. A very positive year beating 3 of the strongest football counties, who have been in the last all ireland finals, 2 of them being champions. Next step would be winning a leinster title. Which is very achievable. Seems to going well at minor and u20 too. Not an expert on meath but menton and keoghan apart, they look like a very young team. richiepmurphy (Kilkenny) - Posts: 15 - 13/07/2025 21:03:12 2625399 Link 2 |
Tyrone were going very well and impressive until the started slowing the play down. They've tried it in every game and it's not working. How many times yesterday did Mc Geary or Seanie oDonnell or big Con catch brilliant balls and tear into the Kerry 45 . Once passed to their half forward line , back around it went until they were either turned over or it was kicked wide. Stephen O Neill is a free man at the moment and Tyrone needs him as a forwards coach. It was his work in 2019 and 2020 that brought about Sam 21. border Gael (Monaghan) - Posts: 921 - 13/07/2025 21:11:21 2625405 Link 1 |
