Your incessant negativity is wearing. You picked one game that would give the same result, atmosphere and crowd no matter what the structure was.
How about picking the compelling and excellent game that just took place between Galway and Dublin and extrapolate a conclusion on the structure from that.

Roscommon are targeting Cork and Meath. Some teams can take a pragmatic approach in the group stage.

I hope you're right. Unfortunately, I think we're just poor at the moment.

How could it be picked when it hadn't even started lol.. Galway/Dublin was a good exciting match but it was nowhere near the perceived sell out.. My comments on the structure of the Championship are 100% correct as I usually am or otherwise explain why the powers that be are dispensing with them from next season… Now try and work that out good lad..

It's only May and your guaranteed crier of the Year.
Fit you better to be down in Castlebar today and support your team. Fantastic result and brilliant performance.

Replying To S1234:  "Hilarious you honestly think Cavan can deliver the result ?! Yet bet you anything if you lot were playing them you'd be like easy win for kerry and no way we loose this the arrogance from a 1 man team . Cavan are decent but mayo to win ."
I hope you stop typing rubbish. Congrats to Cavan who were full value for their win. Mayo are shambolic. Only player who can hold his head high is Stephen Coen who with four points and who many Mayo fans were calling to be dropped for this game…the rest might as well have been at the beach.

Again well done to the Cavan lads here and all the bets going forward. Mayo effectively out of the championship now.

Clare 1-16 Down 3-27
Clare beaten out the gate. That should be elimination sorted already. Anything better than third will be a bonus for Down.
Mayo 1-14 Cavan 1-17
Well then! Who would have predicted a Cavan win in Castlebar today?!! Really sets the cat amongst the pigeons in this group now. Donegal, Mayo and Tyrone were expected to go through. Cavan have other ideas!
Mayo v Cavan should start The Sunday Game tonight.

Risky business, Meath were very comfortable winners in Navan against them and I'd be tipping Cork to beat them in a neutral venue.

Roscommon probably will probably move on from Davy Burke at the end of the season, their 2nd half of the league campaign was poor, poor Connacht championship and now a poor display against Kerry yesterday.

Replying To S1234:  "Obviously but the amount of comments from other counties egging Cavan on..
No disrespect to them but come on. Would the Dubs , kerry , Galway be going oh no worries for cavan we've that in the bag .

But cause it's mayo you all love to go against us. Fair enough time for siege mentality!!
Cavan are decent but hard for them in having facing a division 1 team.

People love to write mayo off . I totally get it I nearly do myself sometimes. .

But absolute joke people are like Cavan will beat mayo.

If we fuck ourselves over and loose to Cavan season over .

Cillian o Connor, padraid o Hora, oisin mullin back from Aussie land 26 ( good source ), fully fit paddy durcan. Tommy conroy . New management were not far off in 26."
People were calling Cavan to win for a reason. Mayo are on the decline, open your eyes man. Your season is not over but it's hanging by a thread.....

Dublin, Mayo, Roscommon and Cavan last year. I think Roscommon and Cavan would have targeted that round 3 game realistically for getting out of the group.
Donegal, Mayo, Tyrone and Cavan this year. Everyone was writing off Cavan. Well nearly everyone!!
Cavan had no option but to go Castlebar today and lay down a marker. They also would have wanted a response to last year. That they have done!

Replying To legendzxix:  "The top 7 from Division 1 are All Ireland contenders. Galway, Donegal, Armagh and Kerry are seen as strong contenders. That can change from week to week.
Outside of the top 7, I think there is another 7 challengers who can be difficult on their day but not consistently. On form Mayo are clear favourites. Looking for a potential upset, Cavan are up against it for avoiding elimination. I don't think there can be any waiting around for a Round 3 playoff for third like last year. Cavan need a big performance in Castlebar.
Roscommon are a dangerous opponent. They drew in Croke Park in 2023. Probably should have won it. There last few games have been poor but they do have big performances in them. I wouldn't say Roscommon are under as much pressure as Cavan to win this weekend. Cavan, Clare and Down are the counties that I would see more in need of a win this weekend. The winner of Clare v Down should get out of their group. A Cavan win tomorrow puts their three group rivals under pressure. Cavan have to be smart and they have to deliver."
Not sure its as even a playing field as people are making out, seems to be a clear gap developing. Connaught teams showed up very poorly this weekend, question mark now over Galway.
Dublin were good yesterday but not convinced yet, they haven't been consistent.
It will be very interesting to see how Derry and Tyrone perform next week.

The evidence so far is Donegal, Kerry and Armagh
are the real top contenders and showing a level of consistency the other teams aren't, I would be surprised if the winner isnt from these 3.
Dublin, Tyrone and Galway are the best of the rest. I would fancy Dublin or Tyrone to upset one of the other 3 more than I would fancy Galway. They have the mentality and All Ireland Winners. Derry are almost a bit of an unkown again.
