Who knocked Kerry out last year?

He's been the best forward in Ireland since his Kerry senior debut in 2018. As much of a physical specimen he is his skills and football brain make him the player he is. To win more silverware Kerry need to get the maximum from the Kerry team with David Clifford in it. I think they sometimes rely too much on his brilliance but their balance isn't right. Keeping him a bit quieter, or if he's having an off day or out through injury, makes Kerry much weaker. They've plenty of very good footballers, not near his level, but I think a better balanced Kerry team with David Clifford in top form will beat anyone. Regardless we'll have our work cut out for us tomorrow in windy Castlebar. Probably a fair few neutrals heading to the match cos kids wanna go and watch this man play. A mighty ambassador for the GAA.

That's a big step up for Kerry from the past 8 years. Kerry will do well to win 2 All Ireland's in the next 8 years.
David and Kerry have had huge problems with Ulster Teams in the recent years.
Kerry we're very fortunate to beat Derry in 2024 and Armagh deservately put them away in the semi final.
Kerry have a huge advantage as they can rest players in the Munster championship where they can easily put away teams like your own.......

Is that a rhetorical question Viking! Simples! Clifford knocked Kerry out! He only scored 4 points in 90 minutes of football! If he was any use he'd have scored 7 ;-)

It's up to you what you wish to self disclose, for what reason I'm not sure, I'd be careful on the internet if I was you.

I called your person into question out of simple personal hostility and rudeness in your initial response, for no need, discussing sport and obviously having a different opinion.

As a result you're not someone, who's opinion or interaction is much of value as a result. I'm sure like myself you were thought, how to deal with personal insults on the field of play.

Sad, if I'm being honest.

Wish you the best.

kerry have only lost to Ulster opposition twice in last 13 years. Both games didnt turn up and only lost games in ET. David Clifford was never going to score 2-6 with 4 players marking him. The new rules will suit him and kerry. Kerry will make hay this year. LEague and championship double winners. 15/2 to win league last week. Clifford should put out a big tally against a poor mayo team.

Some of the Dub supporters wouldnt even recognise their own let alone formers players. Fair weather fans turn up when premier league is over. only supporting dubs since 2015. Don't even know the rules.

You need to get your facts right. Donegal beat Kerry in 2012 and it wasn't after ET.

They've lost twice to Ulster opposition in the last 4 years, to Armagh and Tyrone. And beaten Tyrone, Derry and Monaghan. Hardly a big difference there.

Replying To TheUsername:  "He is heading into his 7th or 8th season.

Year 1, Didnt get past a quarter final

Year 2, Was part of the Kerry team that surrendered the Five in a row to Dublin.

Year 3. Choked in Munster Semi final Vs Cork.

Year 4. Knocked out in the Semi Vs Tyrone

Year 4. Won an AI.

Year 5. Uninfluential and beaten in the final.

Year 6. Knocked out in Semis by Armagh.

The best players of all times lift all boats. You can talk of supporting casts but this isnt Browne or Ford at Tipperary or Wexford.

This is Kerry who cake walk into a quarter (at least) every year, with a squad of 5 minors in a row, all the traditional and by their own measure of success down there, a year without an All Ireland is a failure, so Clifford needs to be held to their own standard.

The trend in each of the above seasons is he and Kerry have come up short in performances at key times.

Is it a harsh measure - sure - but you are talking about calling him the single greatest player of all time.

No.

Hes a good player and a great player of this era among many."
I don't think he has come up short in too many performances at key times.

Year 1 - scored 4-14 across 3 Super 8 games as a 19 year old but Kerry didn't make it through the group

Year 2 - in the drawn game Johnny Cooper was sent off in the first half for constantly fouling him including giving away a penalty. Scored 5 points in the replay

Year 3 - Probably underperformed by his standards against Cork, but still scored 4 points and hit the post for what would have been an absolutely outrageous goal, all in horrendous weather conditions

Year 4 - Scored 8 points in the semi final against Tyrone

Year 5 - Won All Ireland. Kicked 8 points and won MotM.

Year 6 - Scored 3 points and set up another 1-2 including a beauty of a pass for the goal

Year 7 - Another performance that was probably below his usual standards but scored 4 points.

That's just the big games you are trying to claim he underperformed in. Any normal player would be happy with any of those performances.

Won 5 All Stars, 2 PotY and a YPotY in those 7 seasons, in an era where Kerry have been far from the dominant team

If he retired tomorrow he'd be considered one of the greatest ever, if he continues playing at the level he's at for 6 or 7 more years there won't be a debate in my opinion. Describing him as just "good" or just one of many great players in this era is way underplaying how good he really is.

Mayos Cillian O CONNOR has scored far more than him and there no word of him, is because he is not from Kerry.

Tyrone owned their ass for the 13 years before that though, and were famously team of the naughtys of course to Kerry's chagrin at the time.

David Clifford is a very special talent. New rules will definitely suit him. Kerry are still good but not as formidable without him (as any team would) . Kerry's championship success for the next 3-5 years will be closely related to his fitness level.
