Replying To LilywhiteGael:  "A graceless post... I remember Kildare hurling people applauding the progress of Westmeath hurling. Anyway stew in your jealously, we have a Joe McDonagh Final to get ready for"
I was just giving an opinion on the standard of this year's Joe Mac.I had no intention of denying Kildare's wonderful progress. Heartiest congratulations but we are all entitled to an opinion.

The McDonagh winner will take on Dublin. Should always be the case that the McDonagh winner takes on the third place team from their own province.

So the Leinster 3rd will likely always play the Mcdonagh winner? Hardly fair?
Fairer would be an 8 team Leinster Championship, 2 groups of 4, and put Antrim, Kerry and Galway in Munster, to make it 2 groups of 4 also.

I get your idea but poor oul Antrim would have some miles to travel. We have to hold our hands up and say we don't deserve Leinster in 2026 after our performances this year.I see the Munster boys are moaning again about Clare and Waterford not getting games but that will blow over.

Glass half full or empty? Offaly took on Cork last year. Taking on 3rd in Leinster, Wexford, would have been a more attractive local rivalry fixture for Offaly?

They had 4 games each. That's pretty good compared to pre round robin days for some counties. If they had of played better they'd of got more games. Same as us.

Kildare are the form team. Laois have experience and are the favourites. Hopefully another great final.

Kildare will win it. Lack of discipline will cost Leix as usual.

Eating too many scallions can leave a bitter taste.

Kildare should put up a brave battle but Laois to win their 2nd Joe McDonagh Cup.

Hopefully Dublin will 'put up a brave battle' next game.

Fair play to Kildare. The first county to follow up winning the Ring Cup by winning the McDonagh Cup in the following year.

Congrats Kildare. A great win and fine hurling team. It is a huge step up now and let's hope that for the first time in 125 years that a county can keep going ahead.

Well done to Kildare, the better and fitter team who deserved to win.

Could have won by more but for the Laois goalie.

That double save in the second half was outstanding. Super display by Kildare in the last 30 mins. Loais were very disappointing. Well done Kildare. Super work being done in the County

Congratulations Kildare. What an achievement and worth every inch of it. Brian Dowling a serious manager.

Out of curiosity, how many of the panel are from Naas? From my knowledge this panel has a larger spread of clubs in comparison with Kildare teams of the past.

Congrats to Kildare.

Will be exciting watching a different team mix it up in Leinster next year.

A first Galway vs Kildare Championship meeting since 1980.
