We hopefully will see it again as we get more clubs of different sports in more areas across country and far better facilities across country be it though clubs and schools thanks to sports capital grants from department of sports tourism agstcm. Looks unlikely realistically. Naser and Paulinho will take the first two medals. I'd say 'the Polish wan' is odds on for bronze. Rhasidat will be doing well to get 4th or 5th, a medal would be phenomenal looking at those semis.

Yeah the vibes weren't good yesterday evening. I wonder could it be nerves? She's still very young after all and the first female Irish athlete to reach a sprint final at the Olympics. Lets hope she goes out and can give her very best. If that's good enough to mdeal - fantastic. If not, learn from the experience and go again!

The think the pressure of the whole Olympic occasion may have got to her, particularly when Naser (former world champion who has served a doping ban) passed her on the inside very quickly. Looks like it will be between Paulino and Naser for the gold and silver. Rhasidat has drawn a reasonably good lane (4) and if she breaks her PB she has a chance of a medal. I think she has a chance if she gets her emotions and race strategy right. However Kaczmarev (Poland) and Anning (UK) will also be in the mix. Think a medal on the track would possibly be a better achievement than what has gone before..if adeleke runs to her very best she might be challenging for bronze..after all that has happened Sarah lavin,I'd really love to see her in contention for a medal..of course it helps she's from limerick(ha,ha).all these athletes give the most honest interviews of any sporting person.. An exemplary performance that just oozed class. Her semi final and final were fantastic opponents. I'm absolutely delighted for her. She lived in Katie's shadow for quite a while. She certainly wasn't herself in the final 100 last night. It's easy to forget how young she is and that she is still trying to develop a style of running which suits her best. Medal or no medal, she is an outstanding prospect and we are proud to have her in our ranks. Imagine if she was playing Ladies football. With her height and speed ??

Naser, who had a whereabouts ban, and Paulino seem to be the clear favourites going by the semi-finals. This current Olympics might have come around a year or two too soon for Adeleke. As she said herself, it was a very messy race from her point of view. Better to happen in a semi-final and get through than in a final. All her training has been geared towards a certain performance in the final. Whether she can deliver a mature performance to execute the plan is a different matter. It would seem there are about 4 runners in the race for bronze.

Naser ran a very good semi-final, but that was her first real sign of a return to form since her ban. I wouldn't be putting my house on her repeating it in the final. Paulino is the favourite for me. She's consistently performing, although she hasn't run her fastest times yet this year. I wouldn't rule out Kaczmarek. She has run faster than any of the finalists this year, set a PB in winning European gold and bettered it a few weeks later. Word is she was unwell the day of the semi-final. Rhasidat, if she runs to her potential has a definite shot at a medal. Consistency has been an issue for her at times but you'd hope she gets it right. What's even more interesting is that if McLaughlin and Bol chose to run this instead of the 400m hurdles, they'd likely be the two favourites. It should be a brilliant race. Agreed. A medal on the track is by far the most difficult to achieve with the depth of talent in that sport.

I don't know a lot about it but would Rashida not bet better in the 100/200 races as she seems to gas out over the last 100 or so.. She also beat the gold medalist in the 100 earlier in the year and her time would have got her a silver here…. Tomorrow will tell a tale… hopefully she has the race of her life..

It's a joke that athletes caught doping are allowed back into sport. I remember seeing studies that said the positive impact of doping last for years after they stop taking the drugs. Possibly the 200m, but it would be very difficult for her to get to top World level in the 100m. She'd need to take around 0.3s off her PB to be challenging for medals at that level. That's a massive amount over 100m. I'm not saying she's not capable of it, if she was to dedicate herself to the shorter distances. She's very young still and we don't know her full potential. But I'm sure her coaches in college and now in the professional ranks have looked at her and believe she's more suited to the 400m. The top-end speed of the best 100m runners is incredible. She probably doesn't possess that. Bolt was incredible for a man of his height to be able to get up to such a speed over a short distance.
