Replying To Ulsterman:  "Where's all the so called loyal Dublin fans today? Croker is empty for a Leinster final. No doubt the gloryhunters whe are nowhere to be seen today will be out demanding All Ireland final tickets. Sickening!"
I know a lad spends 51 weeks of the year posting on social media about Liverpool.

Come All Ireland final day, he's there in Croker head to toe in his dublin kit. And as the saying goes; he wouldn't know if it was pumped or stuffed.

Replying To BarneyGrant:  "Would you say it as sickening as yesterday? Or more sickening? Or merely equally as sickening?

From an Antrim perspective."
Why aren't you at Croker today if you're so passionate and concerned? If you've time to post here on Leinster final day you've time to go and support your county in your provincial Championship.

Replying To Galway9801:  "Think that's a bit harsh tbh.
I can't speak for any other county but if galway were going for 15 Connacht titles in a row in a game that's unlikely to even be a contest (albeit louth are doing well at the moment) you wouldn't see too many people in Pearse stadium."
Chances are it might not even be in Galway's home stadium.

I was in Parnell Park yesterday and during the week to see the under 20s, and was at club game this morning.

Hurling is my main game and as aging chap no longer as footloose and fancy free as I once was :-)

I assume you were one of the 100 Antrim supporters in Parnell yesterday?

(for whom I have the utmost respect by the way, as we have close histories going back the years.)

I dont think they understand up there this Intercounty Hurling/Football thing, not to mention the ladies. And then the club scene as well.

Cut the Dublin supporters a bit of slack Ulsterman.. Did you not realise the Leinster Final was clashing with a very important Premiership game which would be their priority at this stage…. English and the 2 team Scottish league drawing to an end so they will be back in their droves….. they can't be in 2 places at the one time you know…!!!!

Poor effort.

If you'd done a modicum of research you'd realise that there was no clash yesterday..........

If you did a bit of research yourself you'd see Urnited were playing at 4-30 which would rule out a lot of Dubs supporters from Croke Park for a 1-45 throw in… They have to be in early for the best seats ( in the pub that is )…. Only a couple of weeks left before they get back to their secondary sport…!

The same cohort of Dublin supporters - half the attendance some days - occupy the same part of the Hill right through the year from league to final. There are also several thousand stand ticket holders who do likewise. On average day, that's 16/17,000 Dublin regulars. Dublin don't get that huge amount more in allocations for a final.

Like every county, we have people who only attend big championship games and some of them are county board pass holders and season ticket holders. Only Dublin, Mayo, Cork hurlers and one or two others have similar numbers and loyalty. Fact.

Cavan is exceptionally poorly supported county as proven again by local "derby" with Mon which was 75% Monaghan people. Don't even have excuse of a competitive club system. So, wind your neck lad.

You know you sound just like the other lot up there! my point was not the territory called the UK with the addition of three counties but it was the "northern halve" of the country. As I was saying hurling is not your thing (North Antrim and bits of Down excepted) so you wouldn't understand what supporting a duel county is like, in fact Cavan barely does the bare minimum anyway. Also not to mention Dublin Ladies Football and Camogie where also on over the weekend as well BTW I am not moaning but I have neither the time or the money to support "all" of Dublin.

I was there and although the attendance was below what would be expected it was a 50/50 spread and probably more there from Cavan and remember Monaghan were at home… You seem to be sticking your neck out a long way but you can't explain the 75% ( that's better use of that number ) drop in support for Dublin… Is it the boring football..? Novelty factor waning…? Or more likely the soccer brigade haven't wrapped up the premiership season just yet…? It's only 2/3 years ago when Dublin were getting twice the attendances at turkey shoots but the difference was the premiership season was over as our GAA season started that bit later…. 23k at a double header Leinster Final was pathetic and I wonder what percentage you would allocate to Meath or Louth seeing you have your neck out there lad…?

Exactly, like I said there was no clash. The Premier League made sure everyone could watch both games.

Plenty of pubs and plenty of space in them up here bud.

We don't all have to crowd around the one wireless in village square like yourselves ;)

Ha ha. Still up to the old tricks. Never change my man. Always good for a laugh. Anyway lots going on in sport from a Dublin sports fan's perspective over the weekend. Bohs up in the Brandywell Friday at 745, Hurlers in Parnell on Sat at 4pm, Leinster Rugby at the RDS at 735 on Sat, Dublin ladies and men in Croke Park on Sun at 1145am, rush across to the Bridge Tavern after the match for Man U v Arsenal at 430pm. It's a tough schedule and an expensive one. Still at least you saw the Bhoys winning the old firm from your bar stool :).

He has a persecution complex, a craving for victimhood that instills in him a misguided sense of self righteousness.
If he can't feed his psychological craving legitimately, he'll develop a substitute by deliberately misinterpreting and catastrophising what other people say.
For the love of God don't feel like you need to explain yourself to him.

All joking aside the huge drop in attendances is really down to the big wigs in the GAA taking their eye of the ball and solely concentrating on income and revenue flow… They thought the crowds would continue to flow in so they saturated the the competitions with far too many fixtures…. but the people wised up and stayed away as there is no jeopardy in all these meaningless games… It's only when in becomes a knockout that fans will get interested again…. There will always be an odd outlier game like Sundays Ulster Final but those games are very much in the minority at this stage… So the type of a crowd at Croke Park ( 23k ) is a real wake up call for the GAA but they don't seem to see the problem….
