Congratulations Dublin, delighted for the players and the small but loyal Dublin hurling following. StoreysTash (Wexford) - Posts: 1876 - 22/06/2025 07:11:47 2619797 Link 1 |
They should also thank Kildare for giving them a run out last weekend. Only two teams benefited from the Joe Mc setup and it wasn't any of the teams in the Joe Mc. However it also puts the Kildare defeat into context of coming from the lower division and playing what is now one of the top 4 teams in the country.

I dont know who the others are whom you're referring to (ok maybe one from my own county who posts a lot of bs here on HS) but I was delighted yesterday with Dublin's win. So thoroughly deserved. Played brilliant hurling and showed what a team can achieve when they fully believe in themselves and play with heart and passion allied with skill. Hearty congratulations to Dublin hurlers. Really hope you go on and repeat it against Cork. Hope ye can get the red card rescinded as well , under the letter of the law referees are under pressure to flash reds in these cases especially when it's on tv but there was no malice in the incident and in the spirit of the law a yellow would have been sufficient.

Well done to Dublin, It was one of the best wins for ye ever. I think that the red was punishment enough, a one game ban would be harsh. Cork are well capable of beating ye well but also capable of filling the togs now that Limerick are out and they are the favourites. I hope Dublin win it out. I'd say there's zero chance of it being rescinded, whether he made contact or not the intent was there, tackling with an elbow way out is looking for trouble. Pity as he's been some servant and to miss out on the semi is tough

I used to think the Walsh Cup was all I would ever get to see Dublin Hurlers win, but after yesterday, hope springs eternal.... Hopefully...!!!! Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 4340 - 22/06/2025 17:58:17 2619934 Link 0 |

County Board and clubs need to push it. GAA is becoming almost anonymous in city other than on match days. Cork in contrast have really caught the imagination and despite the awkward time they will bring 30,000 to it. Commentators still pushing myth that crowd for hurling was only there late. Hill was on way to being full well before the football later comers started to arrive. Much better support among club members than other years. Which is probably due to huge fall off in casual crowd footballers had up to Covid. Be great if hurlers started to extend support beyond the hard core.
