It's obvious you're confused if you think there's no difference between far left and far right

With respect, he isn't saying that Doherty is far left.

How would you know what he's saying unless you're one and the same? He said Doherty is extreme left, Doherty isn't extreme left Cumann1 (Mayo) - Posts: 118 - 30/10/2025 20:09:54 2642293 Link 2 |

Perhaps I may be a bit confused, however I will admit I am not an expert or near it on politics, I tried to put on paper the definitive meaning and difference between far left and far right with little success With respect, you yourself can't agree with another poster as to whether Doherty is far left or not, isn't that a form of confusion, these tags are meant to confuse supersub15 (Carlow) - Posts: 3289 - 30/10/2025 21:36:06 2642302 Link 2 |

So British control of part of Ireland was not okay in 1969 but okay now? Same with abortion? Its either wrong or it is not. Fact that itvwas approved in referendum is neither here nor there. Most people are sheep. Took 1916 to wake them up for a few years. All back nodding away since. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3781 - 30/10/2025 23:15:20 2642308 Link 0 |

No he didn't. From Martin mcguuinness and pearse Doherty to far left. They're a broad church from right (mcguuinness) centre ( Doherty) to far left. You're welcome. Overthebar53 (Carlow) - Posts: 400 - 31/10/2025 00:36:23 2642312 Link 0 |

If you believe that the minority on the island of Ireland should accept that they should have no say in the destiny of the Island, its as valid as in 1916 as it would be today. Its something that has no relationship to the realities of life in the Island. The second major one which at least SF did give up was that change in the constitutional status was going to happen by force. Once it was accepted it would not happen they had to addresss what did they really stand for as a political party and that's not so easy. For some there will never be any turning on the first one.

Haha, there's no confusion on my part. Why would I agree with someone who says Doherty is far left when he isn't? It's simple enough

It's a sign of how much we are immersed in a system of the right when SF and SDs are considered hard left. FullOfPorter (Roscommon) - Posts: 438 - 31/10/2025 11:08:03 2642354 Link 0 |

Do we not need those FFFG things to enable us to pay for the SD Lab SF things?

Anyone that says SF is hard left is incorrect, you've made the point yourself
