I don't understand Keane excusing Ronaldo for his recent behaviour. He says Ronaldo scores goals. True, albeit with diminishing returns. Ronaldo scored goals last season but Utd were awful. The statistics when Ronaldo plays this season are even worse. Even with all of the data and statistics staring him in the face Keane continues to defend him. He says it's bad management by Ten Hag? Rubbish. If Ten Hag had been cowed by Ronaldo's demands he may as well have headed back to Holland to pick tulips. Keane knows from bitter experience that no player is bigger than the club. He went on a similar rant in his own time at Utd and found himself bombed out by Fergie. I can't help but think Keane is linking Ronaldo's current situation to that of his own experience in an attempt to further portary himself as being in the right. A thick man as we'd say up here. I can remember Keane in a two leg playoff leading Ireland to a 2-0 win in first leg , Mick criticised him for not playing second leg even though Keane was injured. I think that's very insulting to some great Irish men who represented their country with distinction. You make them sound like a pub team. Lads like Shay Given, Steve Staunton, Robbie Keane, Damien Duff etc enjoyed very successful careers. They were key players at top end Premier League teams and were a penalty shootout away from a World Cup quarter final. Something that we're miles away from at the minute. Keane definitely didn't go on a similar rant, he was getting on and fergie wanted him out. Keane gave him a reason to do it but it was harmless enough going by the players accounts. Did you watch the Ronaldo interview? He's obviously right about the club, look how it has been ran in the last 10 years it's a mess, going well on the commercial side of things but! Well both Keane and Ronaldo had a dig at their team mates even if Ronaldo's was more thinly veiled. Ronaldo wanted out for sure and he's got his wish now. It will be interesting to see where he ends up. I see Keane had a bizarre pop at Newcastle in his analysis yesterday. As a Newcastle fan I would not want Ronaldo next nor near the club. Eddie Howe is doing a fantastic job and has developed an attacking, pressing team who work extremely hard for each other. Bringing Ronaldo into the equation would be ludicrous. Keane appeared to suggest that Ronaldo would be affronted with the suggestion Newcastle would look to entice him to the North East. Laughable stuff.
