Spurs had a different gameplan and defended well. Man United has more chances and possession but done f all with it. Spurs now have champions league money and games next season. The big question is will Ange be kept on. Man Utd are in a huge hole. No European football means they will find it hard to attract quality players and nobody will want to buy the rubbish they have who are in huge contracts and wages. No quick fix solution there. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11595 - 22/05/2025 20:53:59 2611805 Link 2 |
Tottenham were terrible. But United are toothless. Young strikers with no confidence and no leaders to bring the young lads on the team along. They don't seem to have anyone that's captain material. The best thing for United would have been to get relegated and the Glazers would jump ship fairly sharpish.

Such tactics wouldn't have worked against any half decent team. Scored a scrappy goal out of nothing, then camped into their own box because they struggled to get out as they coudnt string three consecutive passes together. It's a long time since I've seen a team play so badly and win a final. The win leaves them Spurs in the same situation as United last season. will be forced to keep the manager when they should be sacking him. United should be able to get decent money for Mainoo,Garnacho and Bruno but will struggle to sign anyone decent as everyone knows how much of a mess that club is and a real graveyard for players. After your 'memorable' punting run at Euro24, I'd be surprised if anyone is touching your soccer tips with a bargepole.

Gosh, Leinster goys! Seeing Northampton not getting over the line today has got to be a worry. Time another few Mill was pumped into Leinster rugby like right now, roysh! Who cares about the funding for the rest of the provinces, as the blazers at HQ might say let those boggers look after themselves, Leinster need to spend big again and get another few big name stors on the paddock to make the hord yards!! ;-) togoutlads (Galway) - Posts: 1054 - 24/05/2025 17:01:54 2612069 Link 0 |
What would the global response be to Britain if they behaved in the north east of Ireland like the Israeli state does in Palestine. FullOfPorter (Roscommon) - Posts: 133 - 25/05/2025 01:24:35 2612263 Link 0 |

Surprised this didn't come through, but I got a nice one with l' Crocicti (Parma) and l' Viola (Fiorentina) both to win. First season over and status secured....onwards and upwards for Parma soon to become the new Atalanta. katser (Galway) - Posts: 2604 - 26/05/2025 16:49:46 2612819 Link 1 |

For pure nostalgia it would be great to see Parma going well again. They had a great team in the mid nineties. Asprilla, Brolin, Taffarel, Dino Baggio, Zola.. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9784 - 28/05/2025 15:42:01 2613265 Link 0 |
What was the global response to the famine, for example, or to the hunger strikers?

Famine wasn't being broadcast on world wide TV Probably half the population of Ireland didn't support or agree with the 1981 hunger strikers. Seanfanbocht (Roscommon) - Posts: 2353 - 28/05/2025 16:35:55 2613279 Link 1 |
Half??? I'd love to see that Poll. I never met anyone that was against the Hunger Strikers. R.I.P. to them all.

Well that's exactly it....in the words of James Horncastle "outside of the seven sisters of Italian football (Ac Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus,Roma,Fiorentina, Lazio and Napoli) Parma is everybody's second favourite team. With the pleasure of watching them rise and be successful to the sadness of watching them fall one would love to see them rise again".

They were doing ok top half few years ago but likes of Bologna udinese have got their act together I'd have Parma as one of Seven Sisters as Napoli were not in serie a for a lot of c4 glory days of 90s Shame they never won a league The Roscommon jersey this season is a bit of a Parma tribute act jm25 (Galway) - Posts: 1547 - 28/05/2025 18:12:47 2613307 Link 0 |
The global response to the famine was for other countries to send aid, only for any amount greater than the token amount put forward by Queen Victoria to be blocked so as not to make the monarchy/British state look bad. There now stands a memorial to the famine a 5 minute walk from ground zero in Manhattan with quotes from British MPs of the day written on it for the world to see. As for there being paltry support for the hunger strikers - Bobby Sands was elected to Westminster! Sinn Fein used the hunger strikes as their political catapult to garner huge support from the US (in particular), eventually culminating in the GFA. cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 5254 - 28/05/2025 18:26:03 2613312 Link 0 |
