I hope you're are right with regards to Galway. If we get out of division two we will be doing well as we are missing some massive players for us due to non availability or injury, Cooke, Mulkerrins and Michael Daly. We also have John Daly and Damien Comer returning from serious injuries.

Did Michael Daly ever bring his club and underage form to senior County level? Cooke seems to be as much off than on the panel. Mulkerrins out gives one of the U20 All-Ireland winners to cement his place in the team. Comer, John Daly will be playing in this league for Galway.

Division 2 for me is a matter of picking Galway and another team.

Division 2 is a real dog fight. It took us long enough to get out of there last time we went down.
I'd be delighted if we get promoted as many are predicting here. So many games can be lost as easily as won.
Starting with our first league game against Meath, which will be very tough. I believe we have away trips to Down and Cork too. I'm just looking forward to the games at this stage.
Our panel needs competitive minutes. That and to avoid any serious injuries, but that one can be a lottery.

Galway have a far stronger panel now with a number of years of division 1 experience. I'll be surprised if Galway doesn't have promotion secured with a game or two to spare.

Very true. More competive than ever. The 4 under 20 current provincial champions are Division 2. 3 of the 4 club provincial champions are from Division 2 counties. All the counties that won under 17/20 All Irelands in 2019/20/21 are playing Division 2. It will be hard to get out of and I would be surprised if any team wins 7 games. Teams will take points off each other. If a team can win 5 games , it might be enough to get up

I won't be surprised. Very rarely is any promotion from Division 2 won with a couple of games to spare. Even winning your first 5 games, wouldn't necessarily guarantee promotion.
As Benny said, I can see plenty points being dropped in games between Derry, Meath, Cork and Galway, as well as Roscommon and others. We'd be doing very well to have the consistency to beat all of them.
There are a lot of new faces from the Galway panel who should see more game time this year, mainly from the recent U20 All-Ireland team. Division 2 will be a good place for them to get experience.

It never works out the way you think it would and there's always teams that surprises you but here it goes
Division 1 in my opinion I can see relegation being any team other then kerry and dublin, but if I have to pick two it would have to be kildare and Armagh and the winners being kerry
Division 2 its a toss up between galway roscommon derry and meath for promotion, but I'm biased as always so I'm picking meath along with roscommon for promotion, down and clare for relegation but both will go down fighting.
Division 3 I think westmeath should top this Division with Fermanagh or laois in contention for the other spot and at a push I'd give Fermanagh the nod, I think relegation will be Wicklow and Antrim
Division 4 you would have to think Cavan and Tipperary for promotion here, with perhaps leitrim being there nearest challengers.
Best of luck to all the counties involved and hopefully the worst of covid is behind us.

This I agree with. I see the bookies have Galway and Meath are the favorites to go up. Either or both might not make it. Very tight. Be astounded if any team wins 7 games. Impossible I'd say. 4 wins or 5 at most will get someone promoted. Lot of people tipping Clare for the drop too. Clare are seasoned div 2 team at this stage and I honestly can't see them going down plenty of fancied teams have gone to Ennis and came home with tail between their legs.

Yes indeed. A competition where teams of a similar standard face off against each other leads to difficulties in predicting the outcome with any degree of certainty. Who would have thunk it?!?

It's hard to tell at this time of year what kind of shape teams are in. Going by the McKenna Cup, Tyrone might be slow to start off but will ramp up as the weeks go on. Kerry & Dublin are usually at the top so I don't see anything changing there. Mayo often start slow as well but do enough to retain their Div 1 status. So I'd imagine for the remaining teams it'll be a case of picking up enough wins to stay up. Gun to head I'd say Kildare & Monaghan for the drop, but would not be in any way surprised to see Armagh or even ourselves in that scenario either.

Div 2 is a minefield. I think Derry are on a definite upward curve so I fancy them for one of the promotion spots. PJ is under a lot of pressure in Galway so I'd tentatively give them the nod for promotion as well. But who knows? Meath, Cork, Roscommon will also fancy their chances.

In the lower divisions I'd fancy Cavan & Sligo to emerge from Div 4, and Laois & Westmeath from Div 3.
