Hard to fathom how unfair it is to monaghon that New York are being parachuted into the Lory Meagher semi final at this stage, should have been a cavan v monghon final in croke park saturday week. very unfair on both counties dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 832 - 19/05/2025 23:08:27 2611196 Link 1 |
Call it what you want .. a junior b title is the same level!

Great to see the hurlers through to Lory Meagher Semi Final on Saturday in Mullingar v New York. Bit of a novel pairing. MrPBoylan (Monaghan) - Posts: 239 - 20/05/2025 09:59:00 2611240 Link 0 |
I see the minors play Meath Saturday in the All Ireland B quarterfinal. Will the same barstoolers on here now start slating the management for having us in this competition? farneygael3 (Monaghan) - Posts: 226 - 20/05/2025 11:58:11 2611276 Link 1 |
Ah yea, sure a horse is a tractor. Cop on lad. If you are going to try to insult sensible posters at least get your facts right. Do you think Derry or Down would turn down the oppurtunity to play for a B All Ireland if their teams were knocked out of the A competition?

I wonder will the lads from the United Parishes think they are too good for this also.

If you knew your football you would know there is only 1 from the UNITED PARISHES so wouldn't really make that much difference be more interesting to see will 10 of them walk or 15 like last years u20s under the same manager

Actually if you knew your Monaghan football there are 2 United Parishes lads on the Minor panel. As I attend all Monaghan games from Minor to Senior and some of the Development Squads,I am much more aware of whats happening than a lad like yourself who depends on rumours to make bold unproven statements.

"The New York hurlers enter the Lory Meagher Cup for the first time this weekend. The Exiles are due to land in Dublin Airport on Thursday morning ahead of their semi-final against Monaghan at TEG Cusack Park on Saturday. Despite having had no competitive games, New York are favourites to win the fourth-tier hurling championship after being crowned Connacht Hurling League champions last year. The winners of the last-four clash will face Cavan in the final at Croke Park on the weekend after next. While New York's participation has been widely welcomed, many have questioned the decision to give them a bye into the semi-finals when four teams have already been knocked out. The same goes for the Tailteann Cup which their footballers don't enter until the preliminary quarter-final stage for travel and logistical reasons" farneygael3 (Monaghan) - Posts: 226 - 20/05/2025 14:26:25 2611329 Link 1 |
Baffling really. At least admit them at the QF stage. New York I would imagine will be very strong and monaghan could be up against it.

Have a few very sad Monaghan obsessed Cavan people infiltrated this forum?I think just ghosting them would be the best policy. Blackcardnot (USA) - Posts: 45 - 20/05/2025 21:19:07 2611409 Link 0 |
Absolutely disgusting decision to do this and all the hard work done to cavan and Monaghon to keep hurling going , especially cavan the hurling is some success story the last few years. I'll definitely be a Meath man cheering on cavan and Monaghon in this competition. Disgrace should be brought to national attention dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 832 - 20/05/2025 23:36:51 2611419 Link 0 |
I'd say your wrong there. Louth have had an amazing season. They were whisker away from dropping into the Tailteann in both league and championship, to win Leinster after 68 years was a results for the ages. They have met their aims for 2025. Pressure is off them and if anything it's probably back on monaghan. It's makes for a really interesting encounter. Both teams will qualify for knockouts but position 1 is the most important.

Good luck to the Monaghan team and management in the Under 20 All Ireland B Final tonight in Cavan. The future is bright. ORIELMAN85 (Monaghan) - Posts: 538 - 21/05/2025 12:17:16 2611516 Link 0 |

If Cavan and Monaghan had any sense they'd refuse to play and make a mockery of Croke Park. Only way to get issues addressed unfortunately. Agree a game amongst themselves to really rub it into them. BaileCrann (Down) - Posts: 76 - 21/05/2025 13:17:02 2611541 Link 0 |
Good man, yet again you're showing how little you know. There is and has been only 1 player on that squad the past 6-8 weeks as one lad walked of the panel. For a fella who watches so many games you'd wanna get to specsavers cause your seeing things. MonaghanMan44life (Monaghan) - Posts: 47 - 21/05/2025 16:20:01 2611590 Link 0 |
You are wrong there was two on it. Doesn't say much how what you know about football when you don't know how many of your club players were on the panel.
