Was laughed at a few months ago in heresaying Truagh would get to the final this year and probably have the best chance to put it up against Scotstown. Wondering if the same boys are still laughing at it now…..

Truagh along with Iniskeen are the only teams in Monaghan capable of putting up some sort of game to Scotstown. Truaghs problem as I said is consistency. But I belive if they meet Scotstown at the buisness end they will run them close."
I said that a month ago. I belive Truagh will sicken Scotstowns. Big around the middle and have a mix of everything. Louis Kelly and Ronan Boyle good man markers and dangerous fowards up front.

If Truagh are to win they can't give any soft frees outside the arc. Can't be breaching after that I think their capable of providing a shock.

Where's Big McPhilips for Scotstown. Am assuming hes injured. They upped it today when it wss put up to them but some of their players have a fair bit of mileage and if the two Jones had of been fit might been a differeht outcome. Truagh look like sort of side who will give them plenty of problems good fo see Mohan and Kelly back fit. Id still fancy Scotstown for theur experience. Beggan is some player to have in county football let alone club football.

Scotstown and Inniskeen play out the same game every year, same outcome again this year. Inniskeen really need all their best players when playing scotstown, they effectively used an 18 man panel in the championship. Not easy for a small village who were missing two talents like the jones brothers from the start. Truagh match up well with scotstown, their big men in the middle will be able to get at Beggans kickouts, which I think have been shaky at times under the new rules. Scotstown should have too much for them though, the young players were very mature today, I thought mccaffery in particular was immense for a lad with another year of u20 eligibility.

This is by no means a dig l, but everyone mentions Iniskeen being this wee village, am I missing something because has iniskeen not got (open for correction on all this) 3 schools, 3 pubs, and 2 ot 3 church's.
Now I know against the parishes its nothing, but hearing about this "small village" has me a wee bit like, ahhhh hear now, come on.
If im wrong im wrong, just want to get it out there.

PS Woods is class

Gavin is in Australia according to my sources. Also heard he has been approached by a high profile AFL team

Inniskeen are just a bit short when it comes to it against Scotstown, particularly on their own kickouts. It was a tough watch in the second half, trying to win a lofted kick out landing around the 45. It's a shame Sean Jones suffers so much with injury, what an exciting player. I don't know you could expect to play with the level of strapping he had on yesterday, needs to take as long out of the game as is needed to get his body right.

Ah the love of a good woman and travelling good luck to him. Like Kearns Leonard wr cant seem to hold onto midfielders. Hes a big loss for scotstown. Mccarville similar to monaghan is ploughing a lonely furrow there now.

Inniskeen has 2 schools, one pub in the village and 1 church. It is by definition a village and on the smaller scale, yes.

Inniskeen have struggled with the goalkeeper position for years. Meegan is a converted outfield player. Scotstown got at least 2 points from intercepted kick outs. Meanwhile Rory scores 9 points.Scotstown would be ordinary without him.Lots of their players were anonymous yesterday. Said it before, he's the difference.
He'll win them another championship in a few weeks. Any predictions for semi finals at the weekend?
I think Emyvale and Ballybay will make Intermediate final and Aghabog advance to meet Drumhowan in Junior.

I think Clones might pip Ballybay. They have some serious pace and a lot of height around the middle third with Beggan, Shane Freeman and Eoghan McPharland. Darren Freeman still playing like a young man at nearly 40 is mightily impressive.

I wouldn't say they would be very ordinary, but they would be very beatable. If the United Parishes didnt have Rory, Inniskeen would likely have 3 titles won.

Gavin will be a big loss further down the road. They won't win an All Ireland on one wing, probably not even an Ulster.

Wouldn't have made a final if they had met Inniskeen or Scotstown along the way. Final will be a massacare. 13+ point margin at the end.

Watching the game on TG4 yesterday noticed Banty and McEntee sitting near eachother in stand. These two could be the ant and dec monaghan football need. Be good duo. I heard from few people McAntee is new manger but also heard Banty is next manger.

Here We Go pending but will be soon but will it be for Banty?
