Any game is tricky at this stage but donegal were comfortable with us in clones. We will need up it significantly to trouble them. Probably a Saturday evening game"
Imagine the whinging from McGuinness if they only get a 6 day turnabout.

Surely Galway and Donegal games will be Sunday? Though that leaves the headache of Kerry / Dublin / Armagh / Tyrone scrapping for Saturday tickets.

We'll know later on today sure.

Yes, I originally thought the same as you. But I think this is what happened.....before Donegal or Monaghan, they said Tyrone could only play Dublin or Galway, so they put Dublin & Galway in a bowl to face Tyrone and drew out Dublin. Jarleth then said Donegal...which I thought he drew out Donegal. But he was actually adding Donegal to the bowl with Galway!
Monaghan & Meath were in the other bowl, then Meath were drew out. So originally it seemed like it was Donegal v Meath. But actually nothing was drawn out from the Galway Donegal bowl yet! Then they drew Galway out to face Meath and then that only left Monaghan and Donegal.

I put us as slight favourites, given the extra rest and the fact that we would have learned from the defeat in ulster more that they learned from the win.

In normal circumstances you would think that the Galway and Donegal quarters would be on the Sunday, to allow all teams a 7 day turnaround.

But I find it hard to believe they'd put 2 games like Tyrone/Dublin and Armagh/Kerry on the one day. That would be a nightmare to get tickets for I'd say, and those are the 2 marquee games of the weekend, which I'm sure they'd like to have as the 2nd game on each day. Plus, it would be asking alot of Kerry fans to travel home from a Saturday game, more likely they'd be on the Sunday which will be at an earlier time for them. And also, the Saturday games are on GAA+ I believe, I can't see RTE not having one of those games

Not long til we find out, but if I had to guess now I'd say we'll be the first Sunday game with Armagh/Kerry after. Feel like Galway will pull the short straw and only get the 6 day turnaround. Which wouldn't really be fair, but I feel like Jim's rant last week will work in his favour this time.

It will be Kerry Armagh on Sunday with Donegal Monaghan as the curtain raiser!
Dublin-Tyrone Saturday night preceded by Galway Meath. Galway will lose out on the 6-day issue as a result, which, given the were the only prelim winner that had an away game seems harsh enough.

Armagh v Kerry and Tyrone v Dublin should be Saturday.
Monaghan v Donegal and Meath v Galway should be Sunday.

I'm seeing more noise that we will be the Sunday but it really doesn't tally for Galway which would be a bad thing. Jim was fighting our corner with his rant about the Hyde but realistically every county in Ireland can have grievances with how the fixtures are sorted.

Can't see 2 nig games like that on sane day logically geography it would suit kerry 4pm Saturday and not 630 but big game won't be first

I actually prefer we're playing a team that we've met in recent months, better the devil you know and all that.
We've played Croke park already this year so Saturday shouldn't be too daunting for the boys. Donegal may be battle hardened at this stage but they must also be battle weary and a 6 day turn around a lot for a team on the march since the Ulster preliminary round.

4pm Saturday. I expect donegal won't be happy with six day turnaround but won't be a problem to them as v well conditioned squad. Monaghan management need to focus minds on getting a performance this time v donegal unlike last time when it took us 40 mins to get to pitch of game. Need to come out fast and start well.

honestly I know there's going to be noise about it generally but I don't think it will be a big factor on Saturday, unless perhaps we go to extra time (please god no for my heart if nothing else!)

weirdly I think the fact we've played already this year means the 6 days isn't as big a deal, there's less homework to be done really other than any changes to Monaghan's play since we met. so the 6 days truly are about getting the bodies right and ready for Saturday 4pm

Think it should be a cracker of a game as yous scored some outrageous 2 pointers in Clones that day and Croke Park will suit yous for that. We will likely not engage too much to avoid giving away too many frees for Beggan like we did in that Ulster match.

safe travels to all heading down anyway
