Lomans and Joseph's got their job done. Both referees let far too much go there were a few awful challenges in both matches. All for a physical game but there was one hit in particular that was despicable. Joseph's are a strange team, always seem to struggle to close out a match

Only for Niall Mitchell tonight The Downs were gone, savage baller. All those missed sitters nearly came back to bite. I'd fancy The Downs to beat St Loman's in the final. They would beat Loman's quicker than Shamrocks.

Mitchell is a class act. He's more important to them than Luke Loughlin. Seriously clever footballer

I can't see either team winning the junior this year

Loman's certainly below par in Ballynacargy, winning by 8 points might seem a comfortable victory but Ballycomoyle will rue missing goal chances, at least three, Loman's still my tip to win the junior but Finea will be in with a shout if they qualify for the semi final.

Is it true that Athlone are appealing the result? Game could have to be replayed.

Surely not. Cant see the Downs being that silly.

Should we have replays in the football championship knockout stages with two of the junior quarter finals, an intermediate quarter final and yesterday's senior quarter final going to extra time? It certainly speaks well of the championship structures in the various competitions that there's so many closely fought games. Bunbrosna defied the odds in Shandonagh with a late comeback from five points behind in the closing stages and then finishing strongly in extra time. The Downs had a much younger team but the resolve of the experienced Bun lads won the battle. Finea looked impressive in front of goal especially scoring five goals. They could easily have had seven. Two good junior semi finals in prospect with Bun facing Joseph's and Finea against Loman's. Tubberclair and Multy in the intermediate quarter final was an enthralling contest. Tubberclair looked to have done enough leading in extra time but Multy came back and the win in a penalty shoot out will have tasted sweet

Athlone were making a big deal of it at the time on the sideline which was during 2nd half of ET. Some subs were temporary I think.

Tpass comfortably the better side in the final quarter today. Mullingar shamrocks were already in a semi-final according to some. Tpass are a strong side and were excellent in the last quarter. Gonoud, Clarke and Harte excellent.

No time for replays with so many dual players in the county. Not a nice way to lose but necessary.

2 great games of football this evening .. intermediate game a cracker tubberclair will feel they beat themselves but credit to multy for plugging away, penalties no easy way to lose but it really added to the excitement and the second game was brilliant considering after 10 mins I thought it would be a dour affair tyrellspass no matter how much they are knocked they come back fighting twice as much shamrocks will be kicking themselves wasted plenty of scoring chances but overall tyrellspass had that bit more about them I thought ….just reading on this about the athlone downs game and the substitution scenario can anyone shed any light as I couldn't attend the game … we will hardly have another situation in this county like we are seeing in Longford

Was talking to a downs man at the match. Seems to be something of nothing, downs made 4 subs in extra time ( 3 allowed) but one was a temporary sub

Not too many here forecast Tpass getting this far.

No but every year there knocked and I myself have been one of those that have said there in trouble this year but they just throw it back at you, there some club to perform the way they have for such a small pull they are unbelievable and kudos to them I admire there grit and steel and all this minus Ger Egan.

The sides were level with 53 mins played? Hardly comfortable. Obvious if either side goaled it was crucial. Tyrrellspass got the vital score.
