Replying To WmeathWarrior:  "Anyone at the Tpass vs St. Lomans game on Saturday? A very high scoring game, both ways. Lomans defense still suspect obviously. 1-18 is a massive scoreline. Tpass have a good chance against Shamrocks? Anyone at it have any info? I see Heslin, Cox, Foy, Gaffney, Hogan were all on the bench for St. Lomans, had Tpass many missing?"
No Hes or Tj, Eoghan Hogan and Flanagan started.
Dowdall changed the team
The pick of the other 5 left wouldnt beat Lomans Im afraid.
Tpass has every1, Ger Egan and Mc Nicholas played.

I dont know Bruno, if Flanagan cant get the players up for it then who can.
This a golden generation for Caulry and whats another year.
Is it a mental block because Caulry have the best squad after St Lomans the way I see it.

I really don't know where this comes from. Caulry aren't in the top 5 for best squads. Some good players but The Downs are much better. Tpass and Shamrocks better too and Coralstown Kinnegad a better all round team even if they don't have marquee men. Caulry get too excited about themselves as they did the two years previous. Won one game against Tang and people here already had them in a semi-final!!

Great game to watch for a neutral in the sunshine in the Downs. Shane Dempsey was on fire for Lomans, he scored 9 points. 2 McCartans and O'Toole very good also. Tyrrellspass kicked some great scores and will take beating in the quarters.

Unless Ger Egan played with the pair of crutches he was using to get around the downs on Saturday evening I think you've the wrong info

No they didn't . Ger and mcnicholas were in the terrrace in the downs on Sunday , ger was on crutches. Mcnic hasn't played all year either not even a league minute!
Tpass also missing Peter Clarke & Tommy Ryan.
Lomans clear favourites but get your facts right on opposition teams before ya start spouting.
Lomans not all what they are hyped up to be neither.

Niall would be a very astute appointment. He is building up an impressive CV in the club scene in the capital and is a true Westmeath gael.

Best squad after Lomans? That is a mad statement!

Outside of their 3 county players it's an intermediate standard team actually I would go as far as say a section B intermediate team.

Shane Curran and co did a great job with this team and it was always going to be a hard job for any manager to back up what he did. Two quarter finals and one semi final in 3 years is a massive achievement for a small club

Replying To coffey:  "I was in the Park Saturday evening, Tang were the better team and I thought the man in the middle struggled . The first game between Multy and Kilbeggan was poor , I can't see Multy or Rochfortbridge getting near Tubberclair or Rosemount. Tubberclair will tie up Ronan Wallace and thats the end of Multy. I think getting to the top group is as good as it gets for these 2 ."
I have to agree Tang totally outplayed Athlone on Saturday evening in Cusack where people said they couldn't play. Athlone got a lucky goal that kept them in the game and few soft frees. How Tang didn't get a 45 at the end to win the match was ridiculous. They might not get the credit like other clubs on this but it's a great achievement for a small rural club being in Section A and they competed well.

It was clear to everyone in the stand it was a 45 for Tang at the end. A very cruel way for a teams championship to end.
