Senior A:
1.Lomans
2.Kinnegad
3.Tang
4.Athlone
5.Tyrrelspass
6.Caulry

Senior B:
1.The Downs
2.Shamrocks
3.Killucan
4.Shandonagh
5.Moate
6.Malachys

Probably controversial but it's very hard to predict and a lot of the teams are interchangeable especially in Section A. Also I'm pretty confident that the 2 that go through from Section B can both get into semis but ofc certain matchups may change this opinion

Moate possibly getting in to gear too late as it's possible if not likely that their max of six points will not be enough to qualify.

Maryland finishing third in the group would be some achievement with them being pointless after two matches. Their concentration at moment is surely on avoiding relegation, their games versus Ballynacargy and Ballymore are hugely significant as Kilbeggan already look safe

Yep. it's unlikely that 2nd place in group B will have fewer than 7 points. And will more than likely have 8. Killucan v Shamrocks in the next round will probably decide who goes through with The Downs. Also possible that those 3 all finish on 8 (Shams beat Killucan, Killucan beat The Downs, The Downs beat Shams), which would be interesting.

How someone can think that tpass can come second in senior A is beyond me, they were absolutely terrible on Friday night, they won't beat Athlone. Caulry are even worse this year and will come 6th can't see them getting a win. Athlone and Tang would be my picks for Q/F. As for Moate coming out of senior B, won't get near Downs/Killucan/Sham with 6 points. I can see killucan beating shamrocks in dog fight for second but could go either way.

If Killucan beat Shamrocks as you predict, getting to 6 points would probably have Moate level with Killucan and Shamrocks. They still have to play Killucan, so to get to 6 points would mean beating them. I think The Downs will beat everyone and each of Moate, Shamrocks and Killucan would have lost two games in that scenario.

Probably a moot point anyway because Killucan could well beat Moate and at the minute there's a huge gap in score difference, but getting to 6 points may not have them too far away.

In 2029 they might. They'll be delighted to make a semi this year

Stranger things have happened and that's the beauty of the GAA, I'll book mark this one because I do think a team will come from nowhere in this championship and Shamrocks might be the one. Few nice additions to the team.

Anyone with a set of fixtures for next weekend 9th - 11th and the venues.
Westmeath GAA website doing update and the app doesn't have them on it.
Also games at club venues, it's not much to ask for teamsheets when paying in...
Plenty wondering who might be the next player to break through for the county team and then not knowing who players are.

At the hurling last night supporters were given a team sheet with the Castlepollard team and subs listed and a blank page where the Gaels team was meant to be. Supporters complained about it as not many knew the Lough Lene players apart from the better known ones like Jogger Doyle and Derek McNicholas. The response was that the club didn't hand in or send in the list.

Luke Loughlin went off injured playing for Clonkill this evening. Hopefully not as bad as it seems and hes back soon.

I would like to hear people's view on the fixtures and in particular the venues for a couple of next weekend games. In the intermediate Tubberclair v Milltownpass is fixed for Kinnegad at 5.15pm on Saturday. This seems very unfair to Tubberclair . There is an intermediate game in Moate at 7pm on Saturday with no game before it. Surely it would have been more logical to play the T'clair v M'pass game in Moate. The referee for this game is also from Moate so the officials will also have to travel to Kinnegad. Garrycastle v Rosemount is in Cusack Park at 5.15 pm on Saturday. Surely a venue in the south of the county such as Ballymore , Athlone or Moate was more appropriate and easier for supporters.
