LLG really never got motoring last night. Looked quite poor really, Shane Williams and Dan Higgins injured had a big impact on them. Daltons were well organised and could have taken points westmeathgaa11 (Westmeath) - Posts: 367 - 18/07/2026 09:11:50 2686145 Link 0 |

That's true, they will need those two back and to improve a lot as their games will only get more difficult now going forward.

It was a great game last night, Castletown won by 5 points in the end while missing 6 starters from last years final. Clonkill, were very good throughout, particularly in the opening 10/15 minutes and for large parts of the second half. Kian Loughlin was excellent for them at corner forward, I think be racked up something like 2-08. Castletown didn't play well and then just turned it on in the last 10 minutes with O'Brien and Corrigan hitting crucial scores to finish out strong and get the win and are now on 4 pts with their best players to come back, they'll be thankful of the break now of a couple of weeks. Clonkill must beat the Gaels to have a chance of staying in contention, that should be a cracker of a game.

I thought Clonkill played very well but Castletown showed their experience in last ten minutes. As for the black and ambers missing 6 i dont think a few of those will be back in 2026. Great to see Niall Mitchell and Dara Egerton playing well. Kiam Loughlin was for me man of the match. jobber (Westmeath) - Posts: 1992 - 20/07/2026 02:09:29 2686327 Link 1 |

So you're complaining that one of you got charged full price and the other 2 didn't. Did one of your group pretend they were a student?

Disgraceful that today is Wednesday and our hurling clubs still have no idea what day they're playing next weekend and it's a bank holiday weekend. Can't be that hard to days of the weekend westmeathgaa11 (Westmeath) - Posts: 367 - 22/07/2026 09:05:14 2686558 Link 0 |

Looking forward to this weekends fixtures, Raharney will beat daltons Friday, Clonkill to beat delvin and the big one Sunday evening, I think Castletown will just about win it. 2maroonjerseys (Galway) - Posts: 176 - 28/07/2026 09:49:10 2687704 Link 0 |

Senior A Clonkill to beat Delvin, Raharney to beat Daltons Lough Lene Gaels to beat Castletown Senior B Crookedwood to beat Ringtown St Brigids to beat St Oliver Plunketts Castlepollard to beat Brownstown Intermediate Southern Gaels to beat Cullion Turin to beat Clonkill Raharney to beat Castletown So a couple of shocks i think LLG and Raharney to put a foot and a half in semi at least Castlepollard to put a foot in the final and Turin to show who are favourites for intermediate. jobber (Westmeath) - Posts: 1992 - 28/07/2026 23:46:38 2687933 Link 0 |

Crowds at the club hurling matches have been poor so far this year. Hopefully there will be a decent crowd in Cusack on Sunday evening. Not sure why the games on Sunday are not in the afternoon, Sunday evening games have been poorly attended for many years. One would think that the winner of Crookedwood Ringtown are likely to be the 3rd semi finalist. I think that game comes down to the McGiveny Brady matchup, whoever wins that wins the game.
