I'd say the Gaels have to be wondering what disaster is next for them with a county final, county board have a lot to answer for, minor game should have been called off and senior should take precedent

Agree. This is good for nobody. Particularly gaels if game continued would have been brutal as normal with poor conditions but game should have been off earlier or some foresight known.

Messy but can't say help one or other game could been decided by mistakes and gaels ahead by 2 but who knows what would have happened

I felt it was very dark during second half of minor match and it was getting worse before senior match. By 5.00 it would have been impossible to see. It's only 5.35 now and it's almost pitch black outside. Agree that minor match didn't help and even during the parade the town band left a track. Castletown missing two players for replay with the players emigrating.

Bet they will 10 15.
Surely have to allow people arrived for second refund or at least some money back.

With the game being called off it went under the radar but Shane O'Brien confirmed as a coach under Saoirse Bulfin today

Not a replay, a refixture, if today's tickets aren't honoured for the next day I'd be very surprised.
The minor game should've been moved, not called off. The pitch was cut up after yesterday's games and it wasn't going to improve this morning.

Not a hope McKenna emigrates this week ahead of refixture, advantage Castletown for me, they won't be shocked by Gaels workrate and intensity again. Plus in truth, Gaels need bad tough ground conditions to stifle the classy Castletown stick working

Right decision by referee.

Minor should have been moved, we all seen the forecast.

Will be a good game next Saturday. Gaels will come out at 100 mph again.

You could see CTG half a step off the pace. Gaels were ferocious getting to the ball. The weather really stifled any flow to the game it hindered the gaels. CTG only had one attempt from play and the two sideline cuts that dropped near the goals. Had it been normal conditions gaels would have been 5/6 points up and the bit between the teeth. CTG caught out by the long break since they played, they'll be well aware of the gaels hunger and drive for the next game. Even if they thought they were as prepared as they could be.
Right call was made calling off the game. But what can the county board do? Short of upgrading another stadium in the county and that's not going to happen.
It was freak weather today probably never happen again in 50yrs at least.

In stifled as to why it was called off because I didn't think todays weather was no worst than what it was for the 2022 football final …. Gaels hard done by today but county board made a boo boo by not having intermediate and junior football the day before first senior game …imo no team should have to play a county final outside county grounds but fair pay to the st lomans club for stepping forward and scripting it tomorrow …. Gaels are within there right to fell hard done by

Separately, why is the final so late in October, we only have 6 teams in the competition, Castletown were through 5? weeks ago and Gaels through 3? weeks ago??

How are the Gaels within their right to feel hard done by? They were up by 2 points in dreadful conditions and there was only 12 minutes played. They had a good start but with only 12 minutes played we don't really know how the game would have panned out. This Saturday is given dry so it will make for a better game and hopefully the pitch will have recovered by then. I don't think people will mind coming back in this Saturday to watch a better game of hurling than what yesterday was going to produce. If its true about free entry then should see a good crowd in, there was a good crowd yesterday despite the weather.
