Replying To moresthepity:  "Well that turned out the way most people probably expected. would have been a huge ask I believe for any county to go up to Ballybofey and come away with a win. Pity about the bus shenanigans but that's our own fault

While the future looks bright with underage, it's a worry that so many of our players are deep in their thirties - Grimes, Bevan, Tommy, McKeever, Williams, Branigan, Campbell, Casey Byrne, Andy etc.

Some of them will be back, but all of them are nearing the end and have been on the road a long time.

Just to say about Conor Grimes, yesterday he made his 39th championship appearance which took him above JP Rooney. As far as I know only Aaron Hoey and PK have more than that, dunno about some of the auld lads from the 1940s/50s era.

Him and the rest of the veterans deserve immense credit for the commitment they have shown, taking the county from the depths of Division 4 to become Leinster champions this year."
I recall seeing ye lose a Championship Qualifier match to Leitrim 7 years ago this weekend.

Congratulations Louth on the season just gone. As alluded to, the Leinster title really came at the end of this team's cycle rather than a new beginning. In time it will be looked at it as the culmination of years of toil by some great servants, which when you think about it is a most satisfactory story arc. The new beginning for Louth will have to come from the crop of underage lads who now have the 2025 team to look to for belief and inspiration.

BTW, Leinster final 2025 will make great viewing at about 4pm on December 27th, over a few pints by a fire somewhere.

Annoying about being late to the pitch but not sure if it would have affected the end result. Either way, surely could have been pushed out 15 minutes? Or would McGuinness have went crying to the press again about unfair treatment? If it happened them, he would have made certain to get the throw in pushed out 30 minutes or more. Hope ye go a step or two further next year, big improvements since losing to us in carrick on Shannon 7 years ago."
We have Sat nav's on vehicles in Donegal not that someone from Leitrim would know about that?

Oh God, yes the Pete McGrath season :(

Lost to Carlow in the provincials, then beat London and lost to Leitrim over in Carrick. That might be their last win to date in the Championship..

Eight of the men that togged out for us that day now have Leinster medals.

A very good year for Louth heightened by their marvellous Leinster win…. But like Cavan Louth were out of their depth in the ridiculous group stages even though we somehow beat Mayo…. When the real contenders take to the field ( Mayo never really one of them ) it's lights out … But for a woeful Clare side in your group Louth would not have had to endure the pasting Donegal handed out. ( we got the same ) … Louths main focus now like ours should be to remain in Division 2… Meath done the heavy lifting by knocking out the Dubs but it could be another 10 years until they loose in Leinster again… Enjoy your time as Leinster Champions

Not too mention the Championship of 2017 where Longford ended our season even then a Leinster title would have being nothing more than a pipe dream in this lifetime.

I think your missing the fact that yes indeed a great year all round for us in that we have raised the eye nationally with the underage strides clearly evident, your talking as though this was a flash in a pan in Leinster indeed the typical derogatory talk coming from Ulster. Of course the Dubs will be back perhaps to the golden era of the 6-in-a-row but as of now its every other counties opportunity within the province to close in on them in getting there house in order at grass roots and that's exactly what I believe is finally happening here in Louth. Without using excuses for the no show at the group stage but when you win a title for the first time in 68 years the natural occurrence of a hangover transpired as much anticipated by many in the circle so I think its very foolish to be comparing your season to that of ours although again maybe the status of being in Ulster gives you that right.

Louth are a better team than Meath.

The last 3 teams we hammered them 12 months ago in the Championship, then beat them easily in the league 3 months ago and last month beat them in the Leinster Final when we never played well.

Best of Luck to Meath in QF, Louth very happy with Leinster Title and Delaney Cup in the Display cabinet after 68 years...still a big deal for us.
