Replying To Ceatharlach7000:  "He's a superb player. I was at the UL game also, and he was a standout player, which is brilliant for the county as he's only 21.They are playing during the week in a quarter-final against Mary I, and best of luck to him. I also think Kyle is playing during the week for Waterford (not 100 percent sure if it's Carlow's Kyle Foley anyone able to confirm?). Either way, best of luck.

Brilliant for the county to see footballers getting off to a start, with many players standing out. It's not easy to go up there and get a result a brilliant weekend. Roll on next weekend…"
Yes I believe the Kyle Foley playing sigerson cup for Waterford is one of the Carlow Kyle Foleys. If not mistaken there are three lads of the same name and all around the same age! There's one from the town, one plays for myshall and one for MLR. Which is which I dunno at this stage but I believe it's one of them that's playing with Waterford.

That's good to hear at least. He must have had some kind of injury though as I'd imagine that game was tailor made for him today and he'd surely have been brought in if fit. Hopefully he's ok for next week. A win and we'll be well set up for promotion as the first two games seem our toughest on paper.

For the hurlers job done, one we needed a win from if we are to stay up. (Two down, two up ?). We won well in the end and heartening to see other players step to the fore and prove we are not a one player team. Good mix of youth and experience is what you need, with a few to come back hopefully from injury.

Probably Wexford scraping the win yesterday is better for us when we play them, facing them off a loss would not have been great. Realistically the Kildare game away is the other best chance of a win and they are on-the-up as we know. We need to see how they are in the mix when we play them - they could cause a surprise yet.

Footballers did the business today and from the wireless commentary seemed to have been dominant in the second half. Great to have won the first match esp away from home. Wicklow is a huge game, big local derby, very little in it between us normally. Win it and we have a really genuine shot at promotion. Saying that over the Div 4always throws up a totally random result with most teams able of beating the other. Good spread of scorers, with probably the best panel I can ever remember? Some top lads not even making the bench - Foley, Walker, Phiri, Clarke … but the season is only young yet. Imagine even, the standard is so high Pal only has one county level player!!

Great to have a weekend where both senior sides win …

Ceatharlach Abu !!

Welcome to the age of social media engagement unfortunately. Incredibly cringe but it's trying to appeal to people, see it everywhere.

In last years tc we had two good results and then blew it against longdord. Lets see if we have the mentality to push on and get promoted.

Good thing someone is on top f their game. I knew it was next weekend in NCP but thought it was Sunday. Going to be tough for us. Carlow seem to be well tuned up

News alert - Mind games beginning already folks ....

Poor Wicklow having ground out a late winner against a strongly battling Leitrim side are now presented as the underdog in this contest against Carlow ...

No doubt our eastern neighbours will be travelling over with this match in expectation and will certainly have zero fear for what awaits ...

Yes, it will be. And you should stick to your own board until next Sunday and discuss it with your fellow county-folk. See you in six days time.

Great start in both codes last weekend well done to both sides. Two more wins for our hurlers should gaurentee safety, it wont be easy but very doable. I see Chris Nolan has been announced as team captain

Delighted with our footballers yesterday they were full value for the win

Much credit to the managment as they got the team selection spot on and made plenty of impactful subs at the right time. It was great to see so many new faces from last year contributing which is important to freshen things up. The return of Ruth at midfield was I didnt see coming but worked a treat as he bossed midfield and brought a real presence especially in the air. Chris Blake was a constant threat throughtout and shpuld add a lot of scores going forward. The 4 League debutants McCarron, Bolger and two Roche brothers all did excellant and will only improve the more games they play. The kickouts were excellent in tricky conditions (& best of luck to McCarron in the Sigurson QF this week), Niall Roche scored a top class goal after a deep run and Bolger popping up with a point from half back. All our 6 starting forwards got on the scoresheet and 2-16 is a good return worthy of winning most div 4 games. Conor Doyle for me was man of the match again, and we had a serious bench to draw from when needed.

The mood in the camp must be very positive after a win like that, our first win away from Antrim in 8 years and off the back 4 consecutive wins we are in a briliant position going in to Saturday. The pressure is on Wicklow and Antrim now amd neither one will have it easy this weekend. I notice Kevin Quinn didnt play last Sunday if he is carrying a knock he is a big loss for the Wicklow attack. DCP pitch looks to be in excellent shape which should suit our pacy guys next weekend, a win this weekend would be an incredable start and a draw would be decent too, hopefully the lads recover, prepare and pick up from where they left off and importantly a big crowd of Carlow support turn up.
