Replying To No_ID:  "Great to see this competition returning and even better to see it is rolling out on the hurling side too.
I thought last year was very well run and a huge success.
Does anyone know why the U15 Colts team are not entered this year. I know they played last season.
Similarly, if hurling at u15 will the Colts u14 team be included?

I think it's a great opportunity for younger colts teams to play in these competitions and get extra games together as a panel."
I'm also a big fan of the underage regional competitions. Last year would certainly benefit those who've competed in it. I'm not sure if a colts team are involved in the u16 football this year but I know Last years u14 colts won't be involved in the u15 hurling competition. Not sure the reason for this. Assuming football will be the same but can't confirm it.

Replying To Collio:  "Also Carlow hurling clubs have won 1 in game in Leinster in the last 5 years and footballers have won 2. So not sure why you think either are of a higher standard than the other."
Haha. You do realize a) unlike football, second tier counties don't play in the senior club hurling. If Carlow teams played Wicklow, Meath or Louth sides it would be another story and b) the hurling champions have been playing after not having had a game for three months!!

It's apples and oranges.

The football champions had wins over Tier 2 teams from Wicklow and Laois. St Mullins beat Wexford (Tier 1).

Flip it next year - let hurling go second and see what happens.
