Replying To peiledoir20:  "To be fair I don't think it was the pressure that beat them in the seniors. They just came up against more battled hardened and experienced teams.

They have a great record at minor and U21 level of late and I'd expect that to continue.

And their time will come at senior level eventually and when it does they'll be hard to stop."
How long will they get that excuse though? There will always be teams with more experienced players who have gone further in championship. How long does that crop of players go without getting success. They won't beat Naomh Conaill, Eunans, Gaoth dobhair or Glenswilly in the next 3 years and I'll safely say that. They lack physicality and it was badly exposed against St Michael's, they were schooled by Langan mcelhinney and McLaughlin. You can be great footballers at minor and u21 where there's lots of space and allowed to play football, senior is a whole other story

Pleased to see Martin McHugh being added to the U20s ticket, always enjoy his views on radio commentary and I think he still offers a lot, not so sure about Frank McGlynn but time will tell

Replying To Lockjaw:  "Haha yeah I agree, My last post was more tongue-in-cheek to see if I could get a bit of craic going. The forum is really dead these days.

Four Masters away to Gaoth Dobhair tomorrow. That will be a good test. Gaoth Dobhair under a wee bit of pressure after narrowly losing to Termon."
I think it's the experienced and battle hardened players FM is missing.

We were over at a game about 4 or 5 years ago and caught the second half of the reserves. Was talking to an older man who seemed to know all the players. He pointed out the Reserve bench for FM and said there was 6 good lads between 21 and 25 left as subs while there was a similar number of men in their late 30s, early 40s on the pitch. He said some of the subs had played senior football but they'll give up when they are being overlooked. When they came on they made a big difference.

The shouting from the sideline in front of the "Silent Sidelines" signs in both games was also interesting and I'm not talking about constructive criticism.

Is it these mid to late 20s players FM is missing that would give the experience along with the talented young lads?
