Replying To LongfordgaaAbú: "Killoe will have no complaints about that result today. Strong first half, but outplayed in the second half and better team won. Great year regardless. Hard luck to Ardagh Moydow and well done Killashee.
Overall the weekend went as predicted. Longford clubs are a good few steps behind the leading pack at their own grade in Leinster, no point saying otherwise."
Hard luck Killoe. Did very well in the first half, especially when they went 6 points up. They really needed a six point lead at half time with that wind, however, Summerhill pushed on and scored 1-3 on the trot. I don't think this Killoe side is as strong as some of their other winning teams. I don't think the Longford winners would be able to win Leinster game unless it was at home against the Carlow or Wexford champions. Even at that it wouldn't be a guarantee.
Well done to Killashee on their victory. Killoe put up a good show in the first half, but fell away completely in the second half. Longford club football has gone backwards big time in the last couple of years. That Summerhill team is one of the weakest Meath champions in some time, and they won handy in second gear. As expected, Ardagh/Moydow also fell at the first hurdle. In the Under 21, Ballymahon/Forgney/Kenagh only won by a point. I'm assuming they must have being missing a good few regulars. Granard look good to win the B competition, while Northern Gaels are odds on to win the Cup section.
