What does that mean?

Connollys and Gaels safely through to the intermediate final. Connollys are the better team on paper, but I have a feeling the Gaels will do to them what Ballymahon done to the Gaels a couple of years ago.

Another minor title for Clonguish, first four in a row too. Incredible period of underage dominance.

Slashers and Mostrim this weekend in league relegation. Who knows at this stage - I've given up thinking Mostrim are done and dusted.

The doc heading to Australia next year. They're done then

I'm sure there are and I'm equally sure God gave you two hands to type about them if you so wish.

Group A has Killoe playing Ballymahon/Kenagh with Granard having a bye. Group B, no fixtures this weekend. I'm assuming Colmcille and Abbeylara must make up 2 amalgamation in the group. Clonguish would be the other team. B championship also has a few games this weekend. They are up on the fixtures.

I just had a quick look again there this morning. They have updated it and the A championship is one 5 team group of Clonguish, Killoe, Granard, Colmcille and Ballymahon/Kenagh. The B championship is 2 groups.

No "big team" in the final so people here aren't interested.

Best of luck to both teams, always good to see different names on the cup, albeit Colmcille did win it 2 years ago. A win here will cement themselves are being worthy champions. Also would be great to see ger Carberry win a championship as manager.

Who are the "big teams" in Longford if Colmcille and Abbeylara aren't considered big teams? Colmcille County Champions 2 years ago and Abbey were in 4 County finals in a row between 2015 and 2018!

Fancy Colmcille myself but wouldn't begrudge Abbey getting over the line

Think Colmcille have the edge but the bould Frankie will relish going in as the underdog.

Colmcille seem to just be moving so well through out this championship apart from the first day out vs Killoe, ill go with Colmcille by 3!! But a good game in store with Abbey looking to finally get over the line.

Junior A final, I will go with Grattans by 6. Slashers have done great to be in a final.

Intermediate, Can Connollys finally get over the line, they are in great form and will be favourites, while the Gaels have some great forwards, I will go with a Draw here.

Well I lot of posters here were talking lots about individual group games but radio silence for the actual final.

Yeah its an odd comment. Both finalists are 'big teams' in senior. Don't forget Colmcille won division 1 in 2020 and 2022 too. Abbey's 5th final over the past 10 championships. Same number as Mullinalaghta and 1 more than Killoe in that period. Abbey have been playing senior championship for 30 years now and Colmcille for almost 40. Both well established teams in senior football.

I think Colmcille will win it. I'd like to see Abbeylara win it to make up for all the finals they lost in recent years but I think Colmcille have the edge. Will be close.

Junior is hard to call. Slashers are playing above themselves at the minute and that might take them over the line.

I have no dog in the fight but I think Colmcille have been really under appreciated since they won it in 2022 and I think that a win here would be brilliant for them while also proving that 2022 was not a flash in the pan.

Same as have no allegiance to either team this weekend but in fairness to both groups , they have been there or thereabouts the last 10-12 years in a time where Killoe and Mullinaghta produced 2 very strong squads but colmcille lost twice to Abbeylara at semi final stage in that era too when Abbey lost to Mullinaghta along with winning one and losing a couple of other semi's also. Both groups have always competed well in Div 1 apart from 1 blip maybe but the style in which they are playing isnt that pretty and the scoreline will be very low but both teams are excellent at playing to a system and plan and thats hard bet when ya want silverware..
I hope the very whistle-happy and vocal official isnt the main attraction on sunday tho.. could ruin it and frustrate players and spectators very easily

Yes, agree. I think it will be a low scoring affair. Abbey won't score much but don't concede much. Colmcille will stick to their ultra defensive game plan. Both teams have been regulars in the senior championship for decades.
I think Colmcille might edge it.
