Replying To leitrim4sam:  "Congrats to St Clare's manorhamilton on their all Ireland schools title today. They displayed a fantastic skill set and ability in the ball and played some fantastic football.

I believe Leitrim have the best footballer in Connacht for his age group (if not the country) in Barry McNulty, and we must also have the same in Jack Kelly. He was a joy to watch.

What a huge boost to Leitrim under age football. A long overdue and well deserved all Ireland title. Congrats to all"
Well said. The win is a huge boost to St Clare's and Leitrim.

Jack Kelly is phenomenal, but he is not alone.

At a time when this forum has a lot of negative comments it is truly wonderful to come together and acknowledge a very skilled team.

Completely uncalled for. My God have some grace and accept another rival county fan congratulating us.

Roscommon as a county have won All Ireland titles at all levels - senior, under 21 and minor. How many have we?? Yup - zero

Roscommon clubs have won Connacht titles at senior, intermediate and junior levels. How many have we? Yup- zero.

Ross have a senior club all Ireland won

Roscommon CBS won another all Ireland senior B schools title today.

They, as a county, are in a position we would kill to be in right now also.

You need to cop yourself on

Hard luck to the hurlers, am I right in saying they can't be promoted now? A shame if so as they were motoring well in the league, be great to see one county team get to a final this year, agree the u20s could be a dark horse but depends who they have available and not held back for the seniors, TBF this year is probably a lost cause and no point stopping young lads playing at their level, I don't buy that we can't fulfill fixtures without them, surely Poacher had a look at everyone when he came in and has lads he can call upon..

Why so passive aggressive with your posts on here?

Huge weekend coming for ourselves in the hope of avoiding the drop to Division 2 be beating Derry, and the bottom 4 in Division 3 all playing each other, the outcome to decide who will join relegated Leitrim . A draw would assure Fermanagh of safety but there is still hope for Sligo who have played better of late.

Pointing out facts isn't passive aggressive in fairness

You reckon we need to be told it's a rare all Ireland win? If you're happy getting that info fair enough.

We've all met lads like this. Racked with insecurity, they knock everything and everyone lest they themselves be labelled as, horror of horrors, a bit odd. They'll spend their evenings tearing around the back of beyond in a battered old Passat.

So true what you say.Miserable thinking gets one nowhere.

Unfortunately this forum has more than it's share of negative contributors.

We should be gracious about what appears to be genuine compliments from posters from other counties about a rare All Ireland win.

Let's focus on things that are going well.

I hope the St Clare's players will contribute to Leitrim U20 and monor teams this year and beyond.

Well done to St Clare's its a great achievement and clearly Ward is a great coach seeing as combined team did relatively well in A competition. However, the success of St Clare's led to me scouting the Leitrim website to see how other schools are doing. Is there a reason Carrick on Shannon are so poor (20+ point beatings in some cases) given that the bulk of the population is in that catchment? Are the underage club teams feeding into it quite poor at present?

I suppose it isn't as bad as looking to get our bellies tickled by people from other counties and craving that praise, but thanks for the pound shop psychology, do you take payment in clubcard tokens?

Very little emphasis or value put on sport in Carrick Community school. Lots of talent going in but, despite the best efforts of some staff, the coaching is nowhere near the required standard.

On a positive note, well done to St. Clare's. A brilliant achievement. Between this win, the Leitrim schools team and the Manor minor team, Shane Ward has shown himself to be an excellent coach. I know he's not the only person involved but he's the common denominator.

Rare? We won an all ireland in 2019 for ballad singing. Get your facts right before you comment on our forum again.
