Replying To 3rdmidfielder: "Cavan?" More like he is involved in training a club team.

Replying To leitrimfan123: "Correct. I am completely overwhelmed by the news as he's my favourite player. He's given us countless memories in the green and gold and for that we must thank him!! I will never forget that solo all star performance in Croke park against Laois. Wish you all the best in your future endeavours. Thank you NEVIN." My missus is devastated

For all the mention of the players leaving the county and those still available for selection, I find it shallow and pedantic that there is no mention of Peter File the young star from Aughawillian who has burst onto the scene in the club championship. I believe that he would bring a new energy to Leitrim senior county football and provides a real predatorial instinct up front and can easily penetrate defences.

At this stage we all need to row in behind Coach Poacher and his assembly of staff in order to lead us forward into the new decade with vision and hope insofar as we are able to keep up with the big two in Connacht and the other two of Roscommon and Sligo who are struggling at our level also

A thought... Johnathan Cassidy a stalwart of the St Mary's Kiltoghert defence for 20 odd years. A winner of three senior championships with Carrick. (Open to correction on both of the above don't know if he spent much time injured or travelling over the years.)
Wins the Connacht Senior Club Football title with Coolera-Strandhill at the weekend. At 41 years of age no less.
What are the most prestigious things Leitrim men have won with adopted clubs and counties.
Colm O'Rourkes all irelands with Meath spring to mind. Declan Darcy won a Leinster senior club title I believe.

Ryan Donohoe lining out at midfield in the Mckenna cup last year springs to mind also.

Anyway, well done to Jonathan Cassidy and hopefully they'll go even further.
