Whatever about Roscommon but not Galway no? He's hardly the first Mayo man to venture into Galway. And anyhow, if the deal is right, any manager will consider anything.

If we are thinking about going local and looking for a Leitrim man, why not approach Colm O'Rourke?
Won the tailteann cup with a poor Meath side last year

Replying To Inatfullforward:  "Nobody seems to know Why Mickey Graham left. I see lists and names of potential managers posted up here and tbh within context Mickey is (was now) by far the best candidate. Has spent a year within hes local and he's a proven manager with the type of credentials Leitrim need. Gallagher, Bonner, Horan, Darcy etc. wouldn't even consider the Leitrim job. At this stage it's time lower the expectation levels and install a mgmt team from within. The problem nowadays is that players are so used to these high profile managers that swoop in and out and bring all the hype and buzz but dissappear just as quickly. So will they buy into a homegrown mgmt setup?? They are going to have to!! We've dug a massive hole for ourselves with the paid manager"
Bonner might be interested he's managing Bellek in Fermanagh I think. He isn't involved in media that I'm aware of. I wouldn't have thought Graham was the thing man for the job when he did get it but now that he is gone he's well ahead of the alot of the names listed. I suppose as the saying goes you don't no you will miss someone until they are gone. If it was me I'd give it to O'Hara if he wants it unless we get someone with proper intercounty experience but I think that's unlikely at this stage.

Good point. He grew up in Leitrim and his brother played minor football for Leitrim. It could be an attractive role for him managing the county of his birth place.

Sure why would we look for a proven cup winner at senior level from our own county that might have some kind of interest in taking it...bearing in mind we are close to desperation stakes now for getting someone.

Might do coaching some where currently involved with the Mayo U20s however he More or less said he's done with inter county management his return to Mayo seniors a real eye opener with the criticism and pressure that comes with that role now compared to his first term.

Regardless of who the replacement is I think it will be important that he meet the players to agree aims and objectives, required level of commitment, for the duration of potential contract, before any appointment is ratified. Not saying this should apply to Leitrim or certain other counties, but to all counties, so as to avoid a repeat. Not in favor of player power by any means, but managers need to realistic in terms of what can be achieved depending on resources of each individual county.

In fairness the delusion from fans over there about their inter county teams chances of winning anything are worse than ours.

The first and probably last sensible post we will see from you. And a great call that is. He would be a brilliant appointment for Leitrim but I'm not so sure he'd be willing to put himself in the frame for it. He'd definitely be top of my list for someone to take over Leitrim. Most likely though it'll probably be Eamon O'Hara. In fairness he's probably a decent appointment too. Anyway best of luck to Leitrim and hopefully it works out well for ye.

Anyone finding this introduction of no contact November a bit bizarre? Especially for a team like us getting a new manager and him possibly not being able to contact his players for his first month in the hot seat!!! How will he tell them when is training? How will he pick a panel? . Not being able to talk to his players for his first month in charge will be a massive disadvantage and could ultimately lead to his demise.

All players and management will more than likely have a smartphone ......

Ridiculous for Leitrim to loose two managers in the space of 3 months in Andy Moran and Mickey Graham. Effects both the senior team and the U20s.

A side point but we really are struggling to produce top home grown coaches in Leitrim.

Does anyone actually know why Graham is leaving or is it all rumour? Clarity is needed.

Talk of players leaving but the only two that it is known are actually gone is Mark Plunkett and Pearce Dolan. Who else?

We should also have more then capable U20s being promoted to the panel to offshoot this.

Being blunt we are not going to get any of the top level coaches so we either need a young coach looking to break into the intercounty game or a manager who has shown well previously with clubs or a county team.

Reality is also that the new rules (that should suit Leitrim) will mean any style a play that manager previously had in the last few years will have to change so its hard to know who will be comfortable with the new game.

My list to talk to would include:
Des Dolan
Dom Connellan (Roscommon man previously over Moycullen)
Alan Flynn (a brilliant coach St Mary's just lack inside forwards - a problem Leitrim don't have)
Enda McGinley
Declan Bonner
Dom Corrigan
Karl Lacey
Paddy Bradley (Was with Donegal last year) - Would probably bring Mark McHugh with him?
Larr Wall
Ciaran Meenagh
Jodie Gormley (current Trillick manager)

Whoever it is it needs to be sorted asap.

Not having a full time Athletic Development coach who oversees Seniors, U20s and minors (no matter who the manager is) is a huge issue when we start chopping and changing managers. Are the players from last year senior/u20s currently on a S&C plan like they were this time last year? If not we are already behind regardless of who the new manager is.

Why should anyone need to know why Graham is leaving ?. He's gone and obviously it's personal and that should be enough.

The announcement never said it was 'personal'. If that is the case it needs to be clarified (in a sensitive way) if it's illness etc. or are we going to see Mickey pop up with another county just like Andy Moran? Otherwise it just leaves a vacuum and makes the county board look incompetent. I've gave them credit over the past few years - the calibre of coaches and managers they have attracted has been quality at all levels to be fair to them as its not like we have the most attractive of jobs. But this whole affair just looks like a mess and just at a time when it looked like Leitrim football was improving.

It is the second manager we have lost out of the blue in 3 months. There is a trend there.

I see Enda Stenson is courting the media with an interview on Off The Ball this morning - hopefully he has provided clarity as it is a mess currently and from speaking to some players they are far from impressed.

There's serious rumours going round that a certain club in South Dublin has him lined up to replace their outgoing manager. If true, fairly low behaviour by all parties.

We need to why Graham is leaving because this will explain so much.

We have already had a manager in place and got us promoted to Division 3 which is a huge achievement and then he left. A manger leaving after gaining promotion is very rare. Why did he leave?? He left us and then took up a coaching role with another county!! Why leave us when he was manager and gained promotion??

Then we get a top class replacement confirmed as manager in Graham. He is in the role and left it after two months without getting a squad together or having a training session. Why did he leave??

The common question between Moran and Graham is - why did he leave?? Why?? Is it just coincidence or is there something rotten or that they have seen or stumbled across that is unworkable in Leitrim football??

Moran got us promoted and left to take up a job as a coach with Monaghan, Graham left before he had a training session. The optics look very bad.
