Of course I have more interest in the match tomorrow as I have explicitly stated - to some criticism ( but that is fine obviously).... than league final, or u20s.

The u20s going well is great news ( and I think Connacht under age teams are at very high standard,, and fair play to Sligo going for 3 in a row as not only made Mayo amd Galway pay attention, I also think its shown the strides Leitrim are making at under-age). Two things matter - not be physically over-whelmed and psychologically have no fear. Just sense those days are coming. Win or lose, fine, but I now sense the connacht big guns aren't able to do this every time - and our under age teams now love the challenge...... this augers well.

However - the u20s for all counties, are HOPE... and optimism. Our good senior teams of 92-95 were based on u21 success. WHAT really matters is senor championship matches - beating Sligo tomorrow, along with promotion, would represent serious progress. To their credit, Sligo are a "proper" team; even any Div2 team would be very wary of them. At the same time, because of being neighbours, at to be honest we have history of being well able to beat them, I suspect they will be quite uptight tomorrow as they rightly find themselves strong favourites in Carrick!! Tricky for them, if you ask me,

Some posters criticised me for not really caring about Div 4 final in comparison to Sligo match - now we have an u20 match - which will be forgotten about in 2/3 years time - apparently more important than a senior connacht chamionship win that we haven't had in a decade (or close to)..

Perspective dear chaps, perspective.

Tomorrow's match in Pairc Sean because of elements of bad weather is looking like been a bit of a lottery.

I'm after checking with 3 British weather forecast companies whom I've checked a number of time previously.
Met eireann wasn't one of them.

In the early afternoon in Carrick tomorrow are going to be
21mph/31kph with gusts 27mph/41kph.

In the late afternoon they will slowly reduce in speed but still be strong.

Best of luck to Leitrim lads today. No doubt we're up against it today, we're down key players and Sligo have the players to show up the weaknesses that Laois so brutally exposed last weekend. Hope we have good support today the lads are going to need it.

First weekend of the championship.
Two big derbies.
Monaghan v Cavan/ Leitrim v Sligo.

I'm quietly confident that we will send the Yeats County home with a heavy heart.

I know its going to be windy.

We will have a blast.
It will be a blow for Sligo in the championship.
We will breeze through them.

Best of luck to both teams

Sorry Typo!!!!!!

Best of luck to Leitrm

I followed the score updates on Twitter in between trying not to burn dinner in the oven or my daughter in the bath. Was today's game the big pile of doo-doo it seemed to be to me?

I have full faith in Coach Moran's 'project' after seeing that display today. Wonderful.

I'd say it was the worst 20 quid I've ever spent and that is saying something.

Never saw as subdued a Pairc Sean in all my years going there.

If you knew what Coach Moran's project has cost so far, you might be inclined to boycott the entire thing altogether. It's going to be a long summer.

In all fairness to the lads todays game wasn't really a priority. We couldn't even name a full bench. That been said 20 mins into the game we had Sligo exactly where we wanted them the wind was as bad as I ever seen in carrick. We had 4 or 5 opportunities to get scores in the first half which would have completely changed the game. Good to see Donal Casey togged today. It's a matter now of getting everyone fit for the next few weeks and no reason why we can't be very competitive in the Tailteann cup. Huge game on Wednesday as well in Sligo

This was always going to be an all but impossible tack for Leitrim. Sligo have hugely benefited from a Connacht final V Galway, and the 3 round robin championship games against The Ross, Dubs and Kildare who they drew with. This greatly helped them in the NFL games where they could have got promotion with one more win. Leitrim deserved to celebrate (I have no idea if the did) their promotion and trip to Croker. The loss/unavailability of Keith, their best player, also had a huge bearing on todays game. Were to to return they can do well in the Tailteann Cup.

4 or 5 opportunities to get scores in the first half? We had a total of one shot off target that was deflected over for a point in the whole 35 minutes

100%!! That was a terrible display, it lacked everything you'd look for in a team. I know we were missing players but you would expect much better in the first round of the championship.

We looked disinterested, we were passive , we lacked discipline.

We hadn't a clue how to play against the wind or with the wind. There was no plan! It was a shambles.

Sligo are a very poor team too which makes the manner of the defeat more sickening today. Galway will whip them by at least 15.

What a complete load of rubbish! Leitrim can not blame the blustery conditions! The hand passing over 5 meters was deserate, carrying ball into tackles and loosing it or over carrying it! They looked like a poor club team! No idea how to bypass midfield and let the ball and the wind to the work! Last week was bad enough but this week they should have put in the work, lads satuntering around the pitch! Stupid fouls, frees being brought on and scored as a result! The worst i have ever seen in Carrick and thats saying something, cos Sligo are no world beaters! Anyway enough of time wasted! Andy out, little to no improvement over his rein, dodgey peno got us promoted!

Agreed. End of the year its time to part ways with Andy. Personally I'd go for a totally new management team. The last two weeks shows that in year 3 there has been ZERO improvement. Anyone suggesting otherwise hasn't watched us play.

You could be worse, I paid €60 to get cover in the stand for two of us!

Sligo are miles ahead of leitrim, good underage structure in place, contested all ireland u20 final last year beating kerry , Galway, mayo, rossies along the way....calls to get rid of Andy?? I'm not a fan of his but the problem is alot deeper than him

I agree, paid 50e to sit and watch that puke footpath. Players hand passing ball over and over and what do we expect then, turnovers are guaranteed to happen, naive management. Why did we not kick the ball for second half when the wind was with us. Andy Moran needs to be moved on and the county board reappoining him. We should pull out of senior county football and invest in coaching of underage for 5 years, quit paying senior managers for nothing, no progress will happen without underage success.
