Saw Leitrim playing Longford a few weeks ago and after a bad start they wrestled back the initiative before half time to make a real game of it. They were a bit unlucky as they had a black card and a player sent off so had to play the game down to 14 men for a large part of it. Beating Laois away was a huge result and they are right back in the frame.

That's a shocking thing to do.

Ha ha imagine if Tipp then scored heavy at the end or something like two last minute goals and they won it!! Wexford would miss out then.

Wexford have to play to the end and play for the win as do Longford

Obviously we need Laois to win too,I doubt they'll rest too many. They won't want to lose 2 in a row.Divison 4 always seems to go to the last day.Sure with a few minutes to go last year ourselves and Laois were going up but Sligo and Wicklow ended up getting promoted. There could be a few twists and turns yet.

I believe there is more integrity in Wexford than to do a thing like that!

Good lad. A post from a man I would bet has never played a proper game of football. That's not how sport works.

There definitely is. I was at the game v leitrim and it was a terrible way to lose but a league is won over the course of 7 games and in fairness ye beat Laois and probably should have beaten Carlow. Leitrim are a good honest football county and if ye go up we would not begrudge ye. Obviously our frustration with the ref on the day would remain and I do not think he has got a game since.

One thing for sure, Wexford will play to the final whistel next Sunday and I expect it to be a ding dong game.

Don't give that troll any oxygen. He enjoys stirring the pot. The Wexford team will play to win and will not go out to lose. Disgraceful post by a so called Wexford supporter.

Really looking forward to tomorrows u20 game vs Galway. We have a exciting young team and hopefully we'll bring a decent crowd down to Ballinasloe. Also it has been confirmed Barry McNulty and Jack Foley have been made available.

At least it's round robin so they'll get a few games together as a unit. That can only be good for them.

Exactly. No matter what way the results go it's a lot better than the one off knockout game. Great experience against top opposition. Promotion decider Sunday and the clubs are back this weekend too. It's going to be a good week.

For the avoidance of doubt, here's the table minus Laois and those who can't get promoted:
2. Wexford, +28, 8 pts
3. Longford, +19, 8 pts
4. Leitrim, +15, 8 pts

A draw again Tipp won't do us. A draw will leave us on 9 points, and
a) the winner of the Wexford vs Longford will go up ahead of us on 10 points, or
b) a draw between Wexford and Longford will leave all three teams tied on 9 points, and with no change to the scoring difference, Leitrim would be in fourth place.

If we win, we go to 10 points. A draw between Wexford and Longford would leave them on 9 and we'd go up. Otherwise, a Longford win would leave them on 10 points and they'd go ahead of us on the head to head, and a Wexford win would leave them on 10 points and we'd be ahead of them on the head to head.

So realistically we'd need us to beat Tipp and for Longford not to beat Wexford.

I'm assuming Laois will stroll to victory against Waterford, who have one draw and 5 defeats losing by an average of 9 points. Laois need a point to be uncatchable on 11 points. If they slip up, a Leitrim win and a result in the other game will leave them sweating, but their scoring difference of +32 should leave them safe. We'd have to beat Tipperary by 17 points for a start before they start getting worried... which they won't be, cos they'll spank Waterford.

Carlow are out; the best they can do is 8 points, and one or both of Wexford and Longford will exceed that.

Anyone able to make a stab at the u20 team for tomorrow. I wouldn't be that familiar with the 19/20 year olds in Leitrim. I do know we have 3 on the panel possibly one starter.

The players I do know are
Barry McNulty
Jack Foley
Jack Casey
Ben Guckin
Paul Honeyman
Shaun Sherdian
Radek Oberton
Tom Hughes

After that I am unsure but the players named above have one thing a lot of Leitrim teams hadn't and that's height and power

Radeks overage his younger brother arek is on the panel a serious corner back. Ryan Cunningham and Conor Keegan would also be in the backs. Brian Cull in goals is another great lad. Darren Cox and Jake Tobin are another two important players. There's quality everywhere in this team so hopefully they can perform as well as people know they can

Really looking forward to tomorrow I've a lot of faith in this group.

Meath beat Tyrone in the All Ireland Minor final 3 years ago which is the same group of lads that are now U.20. The final was played in Carrick.

Hope our u20s play tonight, some very good potential there, I'm going to give them a good chance tonight in ballinasloe hope they have good support. On a side note is this the best forward unit our seniors have ever had. Imagine having this forward unit with out defensive unit from Dessie Dolans term. You'd have to wonder if Keith was holding them back a bit. Wexford will do us a favour Sunday I believe. Spring league back this weekend aswell. I think they will draw with carlow at the weekend, Welford prob got a raw deal with theta penalty call but we will take it. Leitrim Abű.
