Disappointing result. We were very careless with the ball and gave it back to Tyrone very easily and just looked off it today. We are definitely better than that performance. We worked hard and never gave up so the lads can hold their heads high. Are there many of that team minor again next year and anymore talented footballers coming up.

Disappointing result for the county minors in the All Ireland semi-final today. As always, they gave it 100% but too many handling/passing errors meant that possession was frequently turned over. While the wet conditions made it difficult for the players, I personally felt that a lot of Tyrone tacking/dragging was on the arms rather than on the ball, (marginal calls) but they certainly deserved their win; no doubt about that. Overall it was a very good year for the minor team and management.

On a positive note, fair play to Sean Mulryan and Ballymore for developing a masterplan for a new green sustainable city for Athlone to cater for a population of 100,000 by 2040. If it goes ahead, hopefully most of the development will be on the Roscommon side of the Shannon and we get a few extra players for the county. It is a very impressive development team that he has put together so you never know. Much more information in today's Business Post and on roscommonherald.ie

That was a very strong Tyrone team well coached in the dark arts !!the second half was very stop start with all the dragging and fouling. The ref could've been better but he wasn't the reason we lost but would've been closer with a different ref
Fair play to them great to be supporting a Roscommon team in an all Ireland semi final and they died with their boots on - thanks team and management

Didn't score close to enough
Can't remember the ref kicking 30 yards shots wide from play and frees maybe u were at a different match
Got what we deserved today but the lads will learn tonnes off rhat today loads of county senior standard players in that squad

Hang on now I didn't blame the ref I think he could've been better and a different ref would've pulled some of the pulling an dragging in the second half - part of the reason for dropped shots was the pressure they were under by what I said was a very strong Tyrone team - calm down is what I'd say like I said good to be at a match where a Roscommon team played till the end and gave it their all but they were beaten by a better team

They did indeed leave everything on the pitch.
Scrapping and battling for every ball right to the death.
If only we had closed them down after our goal....
Ah well ,wasn't to be as we failed badly up front in the 2nd half.

Why have Roscommon county board not moved to replace Davy Burke?? Dogs on the street know that the players don't want him, supporters don't want him so what is the delay please? Show some leadership and get it done and stop sitting on your hands. Thanks.

It's a worrying time for Roscommon. The transition will be very important!

Nothing like a bit of advice from the expert neighbours!
But yes, needs to be an early decision.
Ideally you'd want a new man (if that's the road we're going) in before the Club Championships start.
However most likely candidates are possibly engaged with Clubs already.
So you're left with "step downers" from among the existing County managers.
McEntee ex Sligo the only 1 I'm aware of so far.
Maye Keane will be leaving Clare?

Loads of Leitrims on here. Things must have gone very quiet in Carrick On Shannon.

Think Mconville is looking like a good young manager. Looks like he's leaving Wicklow. Thoughts?

That McConville/Dolan rumour is doing the rounds last few weeks.
Don't know if any substance or just someone starting a rumour for the craic....

He says that family commitments due to the travel will be the deciding factor. Not too sure that Crossmaglen to Roscommon would necessarily be any shorter a drive that Cross to Wicklow, given a motorway most of the way.

I don't know, if he's packing in the job in Wicklow because of family committments then it seems unlikely he'll come our way? How do Wicklow rate him compared to Burke I wonder? Similar records on paper but McConville is an All Ireland winner and a perennial club winner with Crossmaglen so knows all about the standards that need to be set and I'm sure would instill belief in players.

On Frankie or Dunning? They would need some top coach in with them I would say. I like the idea of Don but don't know if that's possible.
