2023 when Enda Smith won it. Just one game Roscommon won in the All-Ireland series very expected one v Sligo at home in the group stage.

Both Smith and Mulroy won All Stars for their years work and how they stood out in front of the watching journalists who select All Stars

So wouldn't say not a hope and @letsgetgoing put forward solid argument in his post above for Diarmuid Murtagh."

Replying To Rossie2020:  "He did indeed come on that day, we were short enough with Brigids having been in the club final and Enda suspended. Definitely worth another look in an area we are growing good depth and options when you think of Frost, Gavin, Higgins, McCormack, Stack, Keogh, Neary, Lambe, Ronan Daly, Fallon, Ward, and the likes of Glennon, Eoghan Carty, Birzins and Gilhooly all worth a look."

Replying To otgarom:  "There's certainly an argument for him but even with those two examples in 2023 Roscommon drew with Dublin, the eventual All Ireland Champions in Croke Park after a relatively impressive Connacht then lost Cork by a point in PuC, the AI series ended up being a win, a draw and two losses. Mulroy was potentially less deserving but Louth were always going to get one after ending both Dublin's reign and a 68 year wait. As big a win as it was Roscommon bridging a 7 year gap doesn't hold that historical weight.
Murtagh also has to find his way past David Clifford, Darrah Beirne, Kobe McDonald and potentially Ryan O'Donoghue. That's two FOTY nominees and two YFOTY nominees, even Dylan Geaney won't get a look in and he was in FOTY nominee form up to and including the QF. It's probably the hardest line to be selected in this year."
