1. Proud member of Glinsk Gaa actually. 2. Costello was with the panel for the two games in the league but not in the 26 so he must be still there, as were a number of other players that featured during the FBD

Just a side note from the league and county team for a minute. Anybody know any more about the Salthill development story. I see them pushing it massively on social media. Surely it can't be allowed to go ahead in a neighbouring clubs parish. ozbound (Galway) - Posts: 76 - 13/02/2026 18:57:19 2656255 Link 2 |

They must be fairly confident of it going through given the money spent to date plus the planning required. To be fair the "parish" doesn't come into it in Galway city really, no hard and fast borders compared to clubs in the countryside. The proposed location is very much on the edge of multiple clubs catchment but Michael's would probably feel the most aggrieved from a football club standpoint, a quicker drive to their pitch in westside than to the Prairie from it.

Walsh was clearly injured in the armagh game, leave him off till championship when he will be most needed. Hard to see them coming away with anything. At the moment I think roscommon and monaghan will be the two games Galway will target to stay up Jonnytest (Galway) - Posts: 10 - 14/02/2026 01:42:08 2656286 Link 0 |

Dreadful stuff by a depleted Galway team. So error prone including two gifts of goals to Kerry. Drax_the_destroyer (UK) - Posts: 681 - 14/02/2026 17:40:44 2656367 Link 0 |

Where would you recommend they build it? Galway golf club, perhaps? Leisureland? Typical begrudgery.

John Maher is an absolute freak physically to do that amount of running on first game back from a bad injury. Kerry defender tried pulling him back but couldn't keep up with him before McGrath offloaded it for the last goal. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 1052 - 14/02/2026 18:39:13 2656382 Link 0 |

That was some improvement by Galway 2nd half to overturn a 11 point Kerry lead to grab a draw. Drax_the_destroyer (UK) - Posts: 681 - 14/02/2026 18:43:32 2656383 Link 0 |

I am just trying to tell ye there no magic switch and some super keeper been ignored Serious comeback Maher some warrior I would love to know what the conversation rate is of our keepers in training because in game time it cant be better than 1 in 4 I think some of build up some of young forwards getting has been OTT Finnerty was well tied up and without him our inside forwards are a fair bit off yet but seriously delighted with result jm25 (Galway) - Posts: 1940 - 14/02/2026 18:45:15 2656384 Link 0 |

I don't have any skin in the game of this at all. I Just don't think it's right that a club be allowed build a new facility 5 minutes away from a clubs pitch/clubhouse in that clubs playing catchment. Cappagh Park could surely be developed which is in knocnacarra. I don't know what club you are from but I can't see you being too happy with a rival club doing what Salthill are attempting to do.
