Two more years given to Padraic Joyce by the board. Great vote of confidence.

If he wants it I think he has earned it. I hope he stays. It's not like there's someone better waiting to jump in.

I'd like to see him once as a manager. They'll have an awful lot of experience and hard lessons learnt going into 2026. I think it's vital the key players are supported fully in recovery for these next few months to avoid injuries next year.

Has he earned it? We have a team talented enough to win Sam but fails to do so. I think the county board should be asking serious questions.
Did any one listen to the Maroon and White podcast on the review of football year and the facts the stats man gave about John Daly and he couldn't understand how he wasn't picked ? Other questions need to be asked on why Cillian Mcdaid was dropped ?

There are no candidates in Galway to take Pj's position I agree, but are we just going to accept mediocre in Galway. Why not go for the best outside management there is, this window for this team could close soon and we may not have a team to compete for another 20yrs.

Word is Kevin O'Brien from Corofin has put name forward. Mick Lundy, Derek Savage,Dave Neary as selectors. Michael French from Kildare as trainer.

What outside management is out there? The facts are outside Johno in 1998 very rarely do outside managers make any meaningful impact.

There was a great suggestion above about getting D'arcy in as coach, he was very well received by the Dubs and it would be some coup to get him onboard. Even with his strong west of Ireland links I can't see that happening unfortunately.

Having watched Kerry V Tyrone it must be clear to all that we currently do not have a team with the talent to win SAM. We have some very good players, but we have a rapidly aging team.

Stop going around from county thread to thread with made up stuff off the top of your own head.

When it comes to lads being picked or not being picked I have to believe injuries or fitness play a part in Joyce's decision who to play. I mean Joyce WANTS TO WIN so surely he tries to field the best possible team. He's not a stupid man in my opinion. We have been to 2 All Irelands under Joyce and I ask you to remember the days before he was hired when Mayo dominated and we did next to nothing. I don't want to go back to them days. I agree with you 100% about the window closing on this current team.

Cian O'Neill showing again that he's been a serious loss to the footballers this year.

Team is actually not that old going by average age. Problem is 3 big players are getting on in Conroy, Comer and Walsh.

Our team isn't aging any more rapidly than any other team, obviously enough. But yes, we're all tired hearing about this apparent 'window' Galway have currently. Where do Kerry fit in this particular window of ours you'd wonder?

We can score 2=3 v Meath in 4 minutes which no other team could do.
We can overcome an 8 point deficit in 10 minutes v Armagh.
We erased a large lead v Derry in a short time.
If we were set up to play fast attacking football we'd still handle anybody.
Our first half v Meath was a disgraceful game plan.
Slow, side to side, allowing teams to set up defensively at their ease.
We only play with attacking flair when we're in trouble.
We have the players, we don't let them play.

I agree and who is resonsible for the style of play, the players or the man on the line who was one of our most attacking flair players of all time but we are missing a Micheal Donnellan who cut through teams freeing up space for Joyce, Savo. O Flaherty has great pace but not the skill or vision of Donnellan but few players in any era have. Kelly and McDaid can also carry ball from deep but not at the electric pace we saw from Donnellan in his prime. We possibly have too many big men in the middle when what is needed is deadly accurate, fast and powerful forwards like Clifford and O'Shea, its a tragedy that Comer and to a lesser extent Walsh has been injured last few years when you see what he could bring in a very limited appearance against Meath,he caused chaos. There are another few years in Comer and Walsh, possibly Paul is coming to the end and should be brought into the management set up or my old chestnut he should go into goal where he could give us another 5 years.
