Replying To gaillimhboy:  "Hypothetically,
Armagh win this weekend.
Following weekend, Armagh beat Dublin and Galway beat Derry.
This would mean that Galway would need to beat Armagh in final game and better their points difference to top the group. If Dublin beat Derry, The Derry game would be taken out of the equation for 3 other teams and the final placing would depend on the games played Galway, Dublin and Armagh.

example: were Armagh to beat Dublin by a point, a two point win for Galway over Armagh would see Galway top the group. As the mini table would read
Galway 2 points +1 point difference
Dublin 2 points 0 point difference
Armagh 2 points -1 point difference

I want to stress that I'm not saying Derry will lose every game, only speaking hypothetically :)"
That's hypothetical alright, seeing that Galway are the only team in the group that have actually lost a game, LOL.

Galway face a massive task in Celtic Park, Derry are well rested and flying again by all accounts. Top the group! PJ would grab third 3 place now if he could and said as much in post match interview. The 3 hard games v Div 1 teams might stand to Galway, but only time will tell.

For Galway to win SAM - they need to modify their team/substitute strategy to ensure their main men are on the field when it counts (last 20min).

Connor Gleeson; Johnny McGrath, Seán Fitzgerald, Jack Glynn; Dylan McHugh, John Daly, Seán Kelly, John Maher; Matthew Tierney, Peter Cooke, Cillian McDaid, Céin D'Arcy; Matthew Thompson, Robert Finnerty, C. Ó Curraoín
SUbs: Liam Silke; Paul Conroy, Damien Comer, Daniel O'Flaherty, Cathal Sweeney, Tomo Culhane, Sam O'Neill, Shane Walsh, Seán Mulkerrin.

I think a Galway team finishing with Comer, Walsh and Conroy will do far better than a team where those three are spent after 45mins

I prib woukd start Walsh v Derry if comer fit sub in reality comer and Walsh have rarely played well together that's why I'd only start one and prib only finish with one of them both good players but not at same time
My team v Derry
Flaherty
McGrath. Kelly. Glynn
Mchugh. Daly. O flaherty

Maher / Mcdaid
Tierney. Cooke. Darcy

Talking about topping the group at this stage???
Not saying they won't but they have to worry about getting a result in Derry first.
If you offered Joyce third today he would take it 100%.

Loads of football to be played yet, dubs made it a battle and not much in it on scoreboard but they were 5 or 6 better than us, i think we drew in league with derry so it will be hard 1 but team is well capable of getting a result. The group we found ourselves in does not allow u to rest players so dont expect changes from pj. Pluses were game time for daly, cooke, walsh. Hard to with comer, no luck at all with injuries. The 1 thing from last year is u wont get away with playing injured lads in games no matter how good they are.
