Its going to be Moycullen. Who is going to Mark Sean Kelly, Eoin Gallagher, Peter Cooke, Dessie Conneely, James McLoughlin, Johnny Maloney, Niall Walshe and I have not mentioned them all. Annaghdown have 2 players county standard players in Damo obviously, Diarmuid Kilcommins, with other up and coming players Olan Kelly, Daithi Kilcommins and Stephan Curley but have the strength in depth I dont think so. A quick question would you prefer to be from Annaghdown with only home grown players or Moycullen with a number of blow ins? Which is better from a GAA club/Community point of view? What team would the football board prefer to be in the final? Which would be best for Galway Football? Just a few thoughts. It looks like the road to club glory is paved in other parishes/counties. Nemo Rangers did it for years so did all Dublin clubs. Just seems to be the path forward for club football. Just curious when Dunmore proposed this all Ireland club championship did they ever think it would go like this?

You're being a big dramatic as to how prevalent it is among the most successful clubs. Dublin clubs have traditionally had some players from outside the county, due to the sheer number of people from other counties living and working in Dublin.
Of the last 15 All-Ireland club winners, I can only see Kilmacud, Ballyboden and Vincent's as winners who had a few outside players.
Apart from that, the road to glory was paved by clubs with local players. An Daingean, Cuala, Glen, Kilcoo, Corofin, Dr Crokes, Brigid's, Crossmaglen etc.
It's why Maigh Cuilinn are such a talking point. Because it's not that common. Salthill had a reputation for this in the past, but their team is much more homegrown now, including all of their top players.

You'd understand it with Salthill - people coming to work in the city, similar to Dublin.
James' currently have a lot of transfers, Castlegar have a few in the hurling too, its the nature of a city club, a perk they can benefit from.

With Moycullen, these players are not living in the parish, they are links through work, colleges or genuine poaches.

This Nevin O Donnell transfer is the one that takes the biscuit. Moycullen's weak point for a couple of seasons was their goalie, so they get busy in the transfer market.

They have some super home grown talent of course, Kellys, Dessie, Cooke, McDonagh etc, but I'd rather have one county medal with locals than 4/5 with a bunch of blow ins.

I doubt Nevin grew up dreaming to win Frank Fox.
