Tomo came on and scored a vital goal in the 68th minute against Down, and got Galway into the All Ireland QF.
Finnerty and Shane Walsh missed vital frees in every game, they're not consistent, especially when it comes to the big days.
Padraig Joyce said himself said Walsh and Finnerty "missed about 2-10" between them in one match, Dessie and Cooke are badly needed.

Walsh kicked a 2pt free into wind with his bad foot while carrying an injury
Finnerty put to bed in last couple years that hes not the man for big games

Replying To Eire89: "Massive imapcts from Tomo please enlighten us. Only impact I remember is the point against Dublin when he kicked a point other than that struggling to remember an impact and games I have seen for SK he has not offerred anything. Even his 2 freees the last day I knew and so did majority in stadium that he was never going to kick them" The fact he even took them on says a lot I think.

Replying To TanCanRan: "The fact he even took them on says a lot I think." Says alot whilst I get your point about having the courage to go for it I would argue he should known his limits and tried to work the 2nd one especially. In the end it was a key factor in SK yet again falling short. Would the goalie or Finnerty have been a better option? I know its all hindsight but in a 2 point loss these are the margins especially when ya see Dessie slot is 2 pointer.

Both senior and intermediate campaigns in Halway were of a great standard and well done to both winners..
One thing to note is the closeness now of the senior championship with the top 4 Moycullen, Tuam , Corofin and Salthill in reality not much separates them. I personally think Tuam are very close and their injuries were their undoing this year but would hold out a lot of hope for 2026

Any team can use injuries throughout the year as an excuse and being slightly unlucky. Dont think any team can hope to go thorugh a champo campaign with no injuries. Salthill could say same about Maher. Fact of matter is SK & Tuam were in positions to win the game and found a way to lose it. Tuam similar story against Moycullen in last yrs semi final. SK same story as 22 when Cooke "hand of God" goal won it. This may seem harsh but these are the fine lines come business end of champo its about getting over the line & Tuam & SK have ultimatley failed consistently here. We could unfortunately say the same about galway footballers in 22 & 24. Throw in Mayo all those finals against Dublin too. FINE MARGINS

Which is it?

Fact is, you need to find a way to win, and anyone who plays football knows that it's when your legs are going and it's 60 min in, and you need to convert, that's when games are won. Everything else is just talk.
Fact is, salthill knocknaracara (and Galway team) find it tough to get over the line. They haven't won since 2012, which is insane considering their panels and club members dedication.
Credit to Tuam for roughing it out against Killanin, they found a way to win, but most people would agree that Corofin lost the other SF rather than SK finding a way to win it. They were poor in the second half.
Fine margins win games.

That was SK losing their captain and best player early on
