I'd agree with that, so long as it's what you have done and not who you know unlike the minor manager that was appointed the last time around

U20 not an easy gig the next couple years. The last few minor teams have been pretty average at best. Talent coming through is not hectic unfortunately.

Lost a game against a very good opponent. You can be sure there'll be noone in Donegal talking about topping the group at this stage. Ulster teams have dominated the first round so having won Ulster that gives some confidence that were there or thereabouts. A lot of question marks over strength of Connaught. Plenty of talent in Galway but it's not being developed properly.Thats where it needs to start. No player is fully rounded at minor or even under 20.

A lot of football to be played yet. All provincial winners, except Munster, lost their first game.

plenty of close games to come, I don't buy into the provincial analysis you subscribe to

Ye Galway lost against a strong opponent in between posts on here about your team for the last 20 minutes of the All Ireland and continuing to talk about topping the group after the loss. I haven't berated Connaught football just pointed out the obvious. JimB1991 (Donegal) - Posts: 60 - 25/05/2025 13:12:17 2612360 Link 0 |

Club Leagues seem to hold little value anymore. Glorified challenge games. This is not just a Galway problem, it's nationwide. I don't know how to change this either. I remember in the early 00s when relegation/promotion to Senior/Intermediate/Junior was based on league results. Carna Cashel got to the county final in 05 and got relegated to Intermediate in the same year !!! Madness.

If it's obvious why bother pointing it out?

A clubs status was based on league up until about 2010 or 2011 I think. League games were really competitive back then, and all the county players played them. As commitment levels increased for county players they started to drop out. They could try to balance it by having one team promoted/relegated via league and one team via championship. Might bring some competition back to the league.

Game finished as I hoped but Derry finished strongly which will give them a boost. Any sort of win should guarantee us getting out of group. Given the results I see 3rd in this group will end up enivatably facing Donegal in prelim. I see we are 4/11 which seems very generous especially away. We need to man mark Glass even if Maher has to sacrifice his game. Lachlan Murray not involved and he's always done well v Galway and Cassidy is also a top footballer that's needs managing. I think it's a mistake getting rid of this format even with 3/4 getting out of group there is jeopardy and a big advantage in 1st over 2nd and 2nd over third. 2nd place in this group should be aim and should give us a very winable home game I think Armagh by the narrowest of margins if we win and Dublin by a wide margin if we lose would be best result in other game jm25 (Galway) - Posts: 1552 - 26/05/2025 13:13:49 2612722 Link 0 |
Who is the most hated club in Galway football ? LottoPlus (Kilkenny) - Posts: 98 - 26/05/2025 15:14:25 2612785 Link 0 |
What's going on with Claregalway? Up and down in the league….Tuam result looked very good. I was in The Prairie on Saturday evening….they didn't even have 20 togged. Strange to see for a team dominating underage up until a couple of years ago when Oranmore came along. BellewsBoys (Galway) - Posts: 11 - 26/05/2025 15:21:03 2612789 Link 0 |
