Replying To Trucker1:  "Mayo v Galway league final on the cards? Donegal likely to field a weakened team again v Mayo which will give Mayo 9 points. Dublin v Tyrone hard to call but Tyrone's need is greater so they might shade it. I think us against Kerry is 50:50, if Walsh is fit, himself and Finnerty will hardly be as inaccurate again, comer will probably play another 20 min so really we will not be far off full strength. If Kerry beat us , will it be scoring difference or head to head that matters as they would need to be us by 7 to over turn scoring difference?"
Scoring difference is used to break a tie when more than 2 teams are tied. If Kerry beat us by 4 points, then they would have the better scoring difference. Agree that it is a 50:50 game.

A 3pt win will be enough it will swing point difference by 6

Have they got rid of the rule they messed around with last year? I.e in a 3 way tie it goes to a mini league of results from the tied teams? If they did that and we tied with kerry and dublin we be out of contention.

Only realised if Kerry don't win they could easily be relegated bar Derry everyone is else playing for something.

It's such a shame, this should be jewel of GAA best playing best week in week out, but with the layout teams actively trying to lose.

I wonder how bookies price mayo donegal.

Donegal lads could go out on beer night before and climb Crogh Patrick in the morning such is their want to win.

lots of rubbish spoken about counties wanting to lose.
Also, fake news about Galway having a very fit team who are doing well because of new rules.

If they climb Croagh Patrick, the Donegal lads could pray at the top for a win over Mayo. That could work for Jim McGuinness, the master tactician.

Not rubbish though, about teams not bothered losing league games.

A league final 2025 obviously doesn't suit Donegal's championship preparation, which has to compromise their attitude to latter league games. Meanwhile, Limerick threw a hurling game in Kilkenny yesterday, because they have to avoid a league final in order to conserve energy for the real stuff next month.
