Wet day here in Dublin lads, the pitch will be slippy unless it dries out significantly. JahTribe (Galway) - Posts: 155 - 29/06/2024 11:27:41 2555521 Link 0 |
Does wet conditions give any of the teams an advantage over the other?

slippery conditions favour the more physical team imho. Expect some cards in the match too. Expect a red card or maybe few black ones.

Reason I am targeting Paul Conroy is his age. At 35years is he up to the physical nature of the game. Wet condition, will that suit Galway. I have my doubts. Dubs very physical. Dublin tend to push on in the opening 10 minute of second half. That is when Galway need leaders. A direct ball into Comer is the answer. But will Galway do it. They seem to love back passing and fluting around midfield with the ball. Also need Gleason to take frees, Walsh is too ambitious. Trying to score goals from half way line for example.

I dont know but if its slippy it will lead to mistakes and the ball skidding along the surface. Galway should be well used to playing in the wet. Its promised to be fine by this evening but as of now its still wet and raining. JahTribe (Galway) - Posts: 155 - 29/06/2024 13:25:51 2555552 Link 0 |
The direct ball to no14 went out with Tyrone defense 2003-2008, but was dead in the water altogether once Jim McGuinness released his blueprint on the game of football, and got such suffocating traction as a tactical approach to playing the game ever since.

Advantage to the more skillful team, advised Colm O'Rourke a few moons ago.

Hope we turn up and give it a rattle today. At our best we can definitely turn the dubs over but it's a question of performing on the day when it matters now. Dirty enough day in the capital but should be cleared come 18:15 LárBáire (Galway) - Posts: 43 - 29/06/2024 17:00:30 2555586 Link 0 |

First three Dublin kick outs chipped to an unmarked player with no pressure. Gilberto_Eire (Galway) - Posts: 80 - 29/06/2024 18:27:20 2555624 Link 0 |
Whatever about Joyce going you are 100% right on the kick outs. Embarrassing the difference in quality

Senior intercounty kickouts vs some variation of kickouts that I wouldn't like to see at under 12. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 832 - 29/06/2024 18:55:21 2555639 Link 0 |
There's a lot more to it than kickouts. Galway lack the overall pace required in a front8 to trouble this Dublin side. Just like 2022 final, Walsh and McDaid the only scorers against top opposition, and McDaid hasn't scored yet. Has now. Pope_Benedict (Galway) - Posts: 4015 - 29/06/2024 19:10:33 2555644 Link 0 |
Galway seem to be happy to be there. They don't look like a team with belief. Players just not good enough.

Kick outs = Possessions Possessions = shots at goal/points. Dublin scored at least 4 points within a minute of winning our long kick outs. We've won two of there's in the entire game. Reverse those stats and you have a different scoreline... It's really that simple. Gilberto_Eire (Galway) - Posts: 80 - 29/06/2024 19:34:16 2555652 Link 0 |
