Galway being "bullied" off the pitch by Kerry. Not physically strong enough to compete really. Strenght and conditioning, Mr Joyce? Anyway, our midfield is all over the place, what is Paul Conroy still doing on. At least Maher is trying hard. Rob Finnerty trying to score goals from half way line still. If Galway stay up they are lucky imho. Hope this is Mr Joyce's last campaign.

Looks like Derry will save them but I'm not even sure what Galway can take from the league. They were generally brutal for 80% of it. Even with all the big names missing I don't think they found many new players. Maybe O'Curraoin as he can definitely kick some scores but he has to learn not to take on mad low percentage shots from everywhere.

Anyway, they survived. All about getting right for championship now but it will take some turnaround in form.

League over now ,,hard take many positives from it ,, we still have no goalie the kickouts are cat made man of match out Kerry midfielder,, can't understand how no other one being given chance , Paul conroy kick passing into forwards brutal at best , could not understand taking Rory Cunningham off no ball going in easy tske off the forward , maybe only positive is this hopefully last year for this management,,,

Great to stay up. Really great. Gives us some hope for the future. I said we might need to look at new midfielders. Maher is good, he trys hard. If Mr Joyce can reach an all Ireland semifinal or final, I say give him a contract again. We missed Seán Kelly today. But great to stay up. Onwards and upwards.

I think O Curraoin has huge potential. Hopefully he reaches it . Agreed on the mad shots that should improve with experience.

I do think Finnerty has stepped.up but not for the entire 70 plus minutes

Glad we retained Div 1 status even if it was based on others just being that bit poorer than us. We need to stay there to see where we really are. We'd get notions of grandeur if we were going well in div 2.

All eyes on championship

Survival was the aim and we did it by the skin of our teeth. We need to try someone else out in goal and need more in midfield to support Maher who just cannot do everything on his own. Good to see Liam Silke getting 55 minutes. Tomo Culhane took his goal well and good to see him back on the pitch. No ball is going into the forwards, just recycle it out to hold possession. Its terrible to watch and Joyce isnt going to change those tactics at this stage unless Comer and Walsh are inside they must be under instruction not to play it into the full forward line.

Galway players can't jump - not since Kevin Walsh. Gleeson certainly put that skill to the test.

When you have so much ball going through Maher, it's a major concern - to put it mildly. Thought Tomo showed a bit of "bottle" when introduced. Finnerty not physical enough for a central role - corner forward or nowhere. We can be thankful for the kindness of strangers..

Very disappointing performance considering what was at stake albeit Derry saved us.

Kick outs in second half were really poor.
Midfield were cleaned. Maher tried really hard but gave away an awful amount of ball.
Hard to be too harsh on the full forward line given the issues at half back and midfield. We
Don't seem to have any plan for fast ball into the full forward line(compare that to how many times Kerry created a one on one situation inside.

Positives from the league for me are McGrath, Fitzgerald, Daniel O Flaherty, Maher, maybe Sweeney and O Currain as relatively new lads all doing well at times in Division 1 games

Good few negatives but most disappointing for me is the kick outs.. if we keep giving the ball to the other team then we have absolutely no chance. Even today if we managed to secure even 4 or 5 more of our own kick outs then it could have been different result

PJ just told TG4 there that it was an achievement to stay in div1 with the panel of players that was available to him.

Said, lookit that's no disrespect to them.

Would Galway be happy today if Derry played at half pace and Roscommon beat them. Is it time for top of league wins league.

Lost by 2 points to full strength Kerry in Kerry missing almost half our first string team, including 4 All Stars. This league has been a blessing for Galway. The new lads now know they have gone toe to toe against the best in the country and we should have a deep panel for the qualifiers. PJ has learned so much from last year. We are in the Connacht final bar a loss to Sligo or Leitrim. PJ May not show his hand even for that this time round. Our biggest concern now is old age, with several players, indeed key players, gone over the 30 mark. We are 4th favs in the betting, which is about right. Roll on the summer.
