FFS, cop on, you are showing a lot of disrespect to the medical team. Man Utd and Liverpool have players out with injuries, do you know how much expertise and medical budget they have access too. The New York Jets got Aaron Rodgers on a three year contract in 2023 at $50 million per year and he got injured in their first game and hasn't played since. Injuries happen. What medical, physio or S&C qualifications have you?

Rubbish... Backwards from Kevin Walsh? They have moved on from that , you want to sack a manager during the league? There is up to 14 players doing rehab at the moment getting ready for championship, all working together for Galway , but Tommyk on Hoganstand wants to sack the manager now... If we're emulating the New York Jets, we certainly won't be winning much. Aaron Rogers is 40 years old.

Real Galway supporters are behind PJ. We have a massive squad for 2024 and I think we can survive in division 1. suckvalleypaddy (Galway) - Posts: 1713 - 17/03/2024 09:16:09 2531602 Link 1 |
Lads it doesn't take long to see how much smaller and unconditioned Galway are, they are probably the lightest team in div 1, I know raw strength doesn't kick the ball over the bar but given lads are running into tackles they need to have the strength to hold onto the ball. The S&C team hasn't changed since kw time and needs to go with pj, it was an easy appointment for pj "ah sure keep the same lads who cares" come the champo heat Armagh mayo Donegal will be far stronger and leaner than Galway not to now the top 5.

It's definitely not looking good At moment for championship with not much sign of injured players coming back it's actually got worse still can't understand why Niall Daly being played at full forward it's not fair on him or Darcy either the amour of time players go into tackle is crazy and same players keep doing it every game and keep getting picked decision making on ball is junior C level shot selection cat shoot on sight John Daly no where near good enough center back just solo ball poor kicker kicks ball along ground outside of boot , defenders never look up when get ball just solo head down 2, yard hand pass to player in same or maybe worse position,, Johnny McGrath great player he actually looks to give kick pass at this stage league is done Galway need Ross to loose 2, matches otherwise we gone not hope coming near Kerry need start silke next week Jack Glynn as well Kickitout (Galway) - Posts: 1020 - 17/03/2024 10:02:52 2531608 Link 0 |
Define real supporters please? Do you need to have a season ticket and at least 5 stubs from going to games in 80s/90s

What about Mo Salah or Rasmus Højlund ages, you conveniently left them out of your reply. Pope, you should try and get out more and if you ever do, you should consider a trip to New York, take in the Jets Training centre at Florham Park, ironically sponsored by "Athlantic Health". They have an amazing facility to get injured players rehabilitation done. However, I can't see that happening as I imagine you as a "Jim Royle" type of character, sitting with the TV remote & mobile phone in each hand and a tray on your lap. Enjoy the rest of your day, probably a big one planned for yourself, drinking cans, a spice bag in the afternoon and 'The Pool' on the TV in the afternoon.

That's not correct. Any of the younger guys O'Flaherty, McGrath, Fitzgerald even O'Curraoin are in Div 1 shape. Our conditioning was better than Monaghan and on a par with Tyrone. smallfrank (Galway) - Posts: 461 - 17/03/2024 11:48:36 2531624 Link 0 |
John Daly is one of the best and most intelligent footballers in Ireland. I would say he's one of the first names on the team sheet

Supporters are people who want Galway to win, people without agendas, I get it. But look we can all disagree here and we are mad for the Tribe. Also, I want Roscommon to win today. If they can beat kerry, we have to do the same or take the drop. Happy St. Pat's. suckvalleypaddy (Galway) - Posts: 1713 - 17/03/2024 12:37:17 2531634 Link 0 |
After all that waffle, the fact remains that Rogers is 40, and at that age is likely to be quite brittle on the injury front.

The fact is they pay him $50 million dollars a year for his arm and sporting brain, there was another lad who played in the NFL at 40, an average enough lad they called him Tom Brady. The chippy will be open now if you want that spice bag, you can order it on deliveroo as you don't get out much!!!

Totally agree bout john daly and I said it weeks ago, wide open again yesterday. It's going to be a very short summer, same old rubbish every year with heaps of players injured. Some one is nt doin there job properly and we are bigger fools for going to matches.

Yes yesterday very poor but needs to be put into context, no other team in the country could sustain the level of injury we have at the moment. Now why we are so disproportionately impacted in terms of injury is another debate entirely. ahsure. (Galway) - Posts: 1645 - 17/03/2024 13:43:54 2531658 Link 0 |
Do you go to many matches? Only reason I ask is when Galway were defending John Daly was sitting in front of the full back. I'm sure when you saw O Callaghan get the ball the two nearest people to him were Fitz and Daly. Not sure he can play that role and also be out in the half back line plugging gaps. Anyone that believes a "wide open" team has anything to do with one player knows little about modern football. All about the system baby. John Daly wouldn't be top of my list for our system failures.

Brady won it at 43 and 41. Manning at 39 Elway 38. Maybe we should emulate these teams? Bring PJ into the 11 role? Players mentioned are the most protected in contact sport I've seen. Not sure it's any sort of correlation to football this side of the pond. SamandLiamSoon (Galway) - Posts: 623 - 17/03/2024 14:06:49 2531668 Link 0 |
Rogers is no Tom Brady. Just never won enough when the chips were down, in complete contrast to TB12.

Very little correlation. You don't see many intercounty Gaa players over 35.
